In the R&D department for gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) we are looking for a Mechanical Development Engineer (80-100%) for the team New Product Development GIS. We offer you a job in a dynamic and agile environment with ambitious goals in a modern R&D department. You will gain insight into the interrelationship of technology, product development, product testing and product production of high voltage switchgear, in which we offer you active participation in our core activities. You will work and be integrated in a team of five experts in the field of high voltage design and thus have the possibility to extend, deepen and further develop the knowledge in electrical and mechanical design.

Your responsibilities

• Work package leader R&D projects in the area of GIS product development


• Elaboration of innovative product solutions following standards, design rules, guidelines and internal processes


• Execution of design work by means of 3D creation and simulation


• Collaborate with globally distributed partners e.g. Product Management, Supply Chain Management, Production Lines, R&D Centers


• Execute technical product documentation by means of reports and instructions


• Prepare suitable and novel technologies in the field of mechanics for the product development by means of collaboration, elaboration and conducted tests


• Analyze and solve interdisciplinary problems in test laboratories and in production lines

Your background

• Mechanical Engineer with minimum Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree with at least two years’ experience in a related field


• Ability to work well in a local and international team


• Good communication skills in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment


• Creative, independent and solution-oriented approach


• Good knowledge of English and German


• Ability to perform and supervise mechanical simulation activities


• Software skills or open to acquiring them (MS Office, 3D CAD, ERP, …)
