Your Role and Responsibilities

Have you heard about the IBM Garage? It’s a cross-functional team that delivers a unique client co-creation experience to accelerate client transformation. We use Enterprise Design Thinking, our industry-leading IBM Garage Methodology and IBM’s multidisciplinary experts in full force from the start. We design, develop, test, and deliver solutions. Start-up speed. Enterprise scale. We apply user-centric approaches to ensure all features add value for the user and achieve desired client impact.

Your Role & Responsibilities:
As a Cloud Engineer you understand the nuances of different Cloud solutions (hybrid, public, private, multi-cloud, on premise) and implications for solution design.
You recognize the relationship among various technologies and architectures and how they contribute to an overall solution.
You develop a deep interpretation of complex large scale multi-region solutions that are utilizing multiple independent life cycle microservices.


To be successful in this role you:
• Employ IBM’s Design Thinking to create products that provide a great user experience along with high performance, security, quality, and stability; ensure that the implemented solutions are unit teste and ready to be integrated into their product
• Demonstrate a growth mindset and continuous learning; stay current on IBM strategy and offerings with understanding of technical principles of Docker and Kubernetes
• Demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills combined with keen desire to develop quality code in an Agile process
• Design, code, and test innovative component-level solutions in areas such as cloud foundation, cloud services, cloud management applications, machine learning, computational linguistics, natural language processing and security applications
• Use DevOps practices and methods to plan and create software applications

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• At least 2 years hands-on Software Engineering
• Experience :



  • using Agile practices in a professional or academic environment

  • with RESTful APIs

  • in designing and implementing automated DevOps deployments that implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) best practice


• Understanding of :



  • Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) application development architecture such as microservices and full stack development

  • development frameworks (Spring, ReactJS, AngularJS, NodeJS, Ruby on Rails)


• Client-facing experience building strong and collaborative client relationships
• Fluent in English and German

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Understanding Cloud Foundry, Docker and Containers
• Demonstrable experience in private and public Cloud
• Experience in implementing various micro services patterns (Circuit breaker pattern, bulkhead pattern, back-end for front-end patterns, cache aside patterns, etc.)
