Summary of Major Responsibilities


The International Senior Logistics Operations Manager has the responsibility for a variety of logistics activities within, but not limited to, the International Logistics Operations of Exact Sciences. This position works closely with Logistic Team members, Lab Operations, Clinical Operations, Commercial Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Distribution, and with external partners. Responsibilities include carrier selection, qualification, and management; inbound and outbound logistics operations supporting both intra-company and international activities, as well as creation of logistics policies and procedures supporting existing and pipeline products. This role will work closely with International Logistics team members, supporting each other in the execution of inbound/outbound shipping activities.


 


This position is located in Zug, Switzerland.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Deliver logistics services and support for various countries and departments to ensure materials are received, moved, and shipped on-time and in compliance.

  • Build and continually improve global logistics functional competencies; provide domestic/global logistics expertise to key initiatives cross-functionally.

  • Support integration projects; including, but not limited to, shipping, monitoring/implementing trade compliance, and regulatory requirements.

  • Establish new and manage existing 3PL partnerships supporting critical logistics needs for the organization.

  • Manage import and export process ensuring compliance with local and regional import/export regulations.

  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.

  • Provide guidance to Operations and work with couriers, customs brokers, clinical sites, and internal departments to ensure shipping expectations are met.

  • Drive establishment of world class logistics processes throughout the organization; including creation of policies or procedures for logistics activities.

  • Participate in carrier management processes; such as selection, qualification, or ongoing performance management.

  • Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or materials.

  • Evaluate and recommend packaging solutions for shipment of samples or new products.

  • Recommend purchase of new or improved technology; such as automated systems.

  • Develop risk management processes to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios.

  • May supervise the work of Logistics Operations staff, act as subject matter expert, and/or train others on domestic and international shipping logistics.

  • Ability to lead and participate in a fast-paced team environment with aggressive deadlines.

  • Ability to influence without direct authority.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Global Logistics, or related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in logistics in a global environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage 3PL and carrier relationships.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a global logistics operation.

  • Demonstrated understanding of healthcare global logistics or healthcare logistics with a global footprint.

  • Proficient in analytic capabilities; including financial and budgetary planning, analysis, and reporting.

  • Advanced proficiency of international logistics procedures.

  • Fluent to speak, write, and read in French and English languages.

  • Authorization to work in Switzerland


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in a biotech manufacturing environment, preferably in a GMP and/or ISO 13485 environment.

  • Familiarity with cold chain distribution practices.

  • Experience with SAP.
