The Clinic of Oral and Craniomaxillofacial Surgery is a specialist clinic for the treatment of facial injuries, congenital and acquired malformations and deformities, as well as tumor diseases in the head and neck region and the associated reconstructive surgeries.
The potential candidate will be involved in a research project funded by the Botnar Research Centre for Child Health (BRCCH), which enables innovative research by multidisciplinary teams to generate new solutions in pediatrics.

We are looking for a Scientific Surgeon 100% in the Cleft Lip and Palate (CLP) and Craniofacial Malformations Unit as of 1.5.2021 or as agreed. The position will be for 50% clinical activity and 50% research in the Facial and Cranial Anomalies Group (mueller.medizin.unibas.ch/).

Your position

• Independent processing of research tasks in the field of cleft lip and palate and craniofacial malformations


• Collaboration in the operations in the field of cleft and craniofacial surgery, microsurgery and postsurgical care


• Participation in the special consultations for CLP and head deformities


• After a familiarization period, participation in the on-call service of the clinic

Your profile

You have already gained clinical experience in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery or the subfield of craniofacial deformities and would now like to further develop and deepen this path in a challenging surgical and scientific environment. Desirable qualifications are:

• A completed medical and dental degree (double qualification)


• Digital affinity and interest in state-of-the-art data acquisition and processing and three-dimensional visualization and modeling


• Very good social and professional skills in patient contact and in the work team


• Enjoyment of interdisciplinary and intercultural cooperation


• Above-average commitment and motivation
