The Strategic Projects Group is a unit of the Rector's Staff, which assists the Rector in implementing strategic projects in the area of teaching.


ETH Talent is a project initiated by Prof. Dr. Sarah M. Springman, Rector of ETH Zurich, with the purpose of ensuring the best employment and career opportunities to ETH graduates as well as the fostering of their personal growth and engagement in society.


The project focuses on promoting and integrating social and personal skills together with technical skills in the ETH curricular and extra-curricular offering.


We are currently searching for a talented and motivated Research Assistant to complement our young team as of May 2021! Sounds interesting?


Job description


Data gathering, data analysis and desk research to support the ETH Talent project leadership. In particular, you will:



  • Assist in the implementation of quantitative studies (e.g. administration of surveys)

  • Assist in the analysis of quantitative data

  • Support the project leader with online and desk research (e.g. literature review)


Your profile


You offer a BSc degree from a recognised university (or are attending the last year of your BSc degree programme) with at least documented experience in a Research Assistant role. Specifically,



  • A student position

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Prior experience with implementing or supporting the implementation of quantitative studies (e.g. surveys) 

  • Prior experience with using software tools for analysing quantitative data (e.g. Python, SPSS)

  • Fluent in English and German in both writing and speaking

  • Flexible and able to adapt to different priorities and work efficiently towards deadlines

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, which include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Strong knowledge of platforms for remote meetings and team coordination (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams)

  • Being a team worker and able to work with a virtual team
