The tender specialist will be part of the Global M&S organization of the railway segment. You will be active for the railway segment, working in conjunction and close cooperation with ABB local sales and tendering organization of the countries. Through your activity you will promote the ABB portfolio and solutions to railway stakeholders (EPCs’, system integrators, consulting companies, railway and urban transportation operators) in order to achieve ABB market penetration and growth aspirations.
Reporting to the Global Marketing and Sales Railway Manager, you will develop railway solutions starting from the pursuing stage to make ABB offering more attractive and competitive. As a member of the GMS Railway you will contribute to implementing the global railway segment sales strategy in order to reach the annual goals.

Your responsibilities

• Guarantee railway application technical competence in order to be identified as a railway ex-pert within ABB organization and a recognized competent counterpart by customers


• Lead offers’ preparation in coordination with the bid and proposal department of the offering unit: ensure that the technical and financial aspects of offers are properly assessed, including prices and trading conditions


• Guarantee that technical and commercial offers are in compliance with tender documents as well as customer’s inquiries and specifications


• Lead internal approval process for demanding opportunities


• Ensure regular follow-up with ongoing opportunities in close cooperation with the colleagues of the GMS Railway and the entire organization


• Actively take part in initiatives for capturing opportunities at the early stage, develop technical solutions in order to influence end-user specifications


• Maintain and enhance customer satisfaction by providing excellent service at all stages of the sales process

Your background

• Masters in Electrical engineering


• 5 years of professional experience for tendering in MV and LV IEC equipment. Experience in railway application and ANSI standards will be considered a plus


• Sound knowledge of tendering processes and tools


• Fully independent in developing technical solutions including MV and LV Switchgear, protection relays


• High level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies and solutions


• Efficient in managing priorities. Must be well organized, responsible and accountable


• Advanced level in English and Spanish. Other languages will be considered as a plus


• Highly proficient in MS Office, tools for equipment sizing, technical drawings software (i.e. Autocad, Visio)


• Willingness to travel according to business’ needs
