As part of recent expansion of microbiome research at Nestlé, we are seeking a senior scientist in microbiome working transversally on the role of microbiome in nutrition and health.

A day in the life of a Senior Scientist in Microbiome Research

 


• Develop and implement innovative and competitive microbiome-based nutritional concepts to meet business needs and contribute to growth
• Strengthen microbiome research strategy by leveraging internal and external scientific expertise while embracing consumer trends
• Coach and develop technicians, research assistants and peers. Supervisory role of PhD and/or master students
• Contribute to peer reviewed scientific publications, scientific communications, and patents
• Establish and nurture close relationships with relevant technology centers/factories/markets/businesses to understand business needs, provide proactive support and generate new ideas
• Actively monitor relevant external partners (academic and industry) and set up strategic relationships when relevant
 

What will make you successful

 


• PhD with expertise in microbiome research with minimum of 10 years of experience post PhD in R&D
• Minimum 3 years of people management experience (leading, coaching and developing people)
• Working knowledge of advanced microbiome analytics and nutrition is a plus
• Experience in concept ideation and science translation
• Excellent project management and stakeholder management
• Highly motivated and independent, with the ability to work in a dynamic environment
• Excellent communication skills, team spirit, and open mindset
• Good time, resource, and budget management skills
• Fluent in English both written and spoken, any other language is a plus
