Senior Technical Manager Confectionery Europe

Location: Geneva, Switzerland

The Senior Technical Manager role is part our European Sweet Goods & Hot Drinks Business Unit.

He/She will lead and manage the Confectionary & Pharmaceutical categories from a technical perspective in line with our strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Expertise :
  
  
  
  • Build, tailor & deploy the  categories strategy at the European level
  
  
  • Master flavor technologies, applications formulation and industrial processes related to the categories
  
  
  • Continuously develop and maintain the category expertise (market products, trends, flavors, technologies, ingredients, industrial equipment and processes,…) and consolidate this knowledge into relevant tools that can be shared internally and with clients.
  
  
  • Identify new business and technical opportunities to grow further Firmenich’s footprint on these categories and build strategic partnership with internal and external business partners to achieve the goals
  
  


• Innovation :
  
  
  
  • Lead the European deployment of the Global Innovation Programs from a technical perspective
  
  
  • Transform Regional specific opportunities/needs in Initiatives to complete our offer
  
  


• Clients :
  
  
  
  • Position Firmenich as the flavor supplier to count on for competitive added value market knowledge, brand understanding, winning flavors and technologies.
  
  
  • Nurture intimacy and create traction with key clients
  
  
  • Lead cross-functional projects within the categories or even across categories as well as within his/her area of expertise
  
  

We value:

• Master or engineering degree or higher in food engineering, food science, food technology, food chemistry or bio-chemistry


• Proven technical backgroundand in depth know howin Confectionery products development and processing (min. 10 years); Expertise in healthier products development is a plus


• Strong Business acumen & technical network(potentials partners, co-development,…)


• Excellent command in complex project management, ability to multitask various project initiatives


• Ability to define business opportunities, set priorities and translate tactics/strategy into action


• Drive and leadership, ability to unite and engage resources

• Fluent in English , a second European language is a plus
