For our company we are currently recruiting an   


Organon - Associate Director, Distribution & Logistics Quality EMEA


This role could be based in Amsterdam (The Netherlands) or Lucerne (Switzerland)


Purpose of the role


Reporting into the Executive Director Quality you will ensure the quality performance of the D&L (Distribution & Logistics) network and external partners within the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region through direct oversight, support and technical advice, counselling to the partners' site leadership and providing on-site supervision as appropriate. This includes overseeing activities such as Partner Selection and GDP (Good Distribution Practice) Due Diligence including establishing Quality Agreements; Quality Assurance including permanent audit readiness, tracking partner Quality metrics, providing coaching and training; Quality Control such as atypical investigations and change control requests. This also includes providing support to build effective quality systems at the partner and supporting continuous improvement activities.

Our Quality organization ensures every single material inside our products is manufactured, processed, tested, packaged, stored and distributed in alignment with our incredibly high standards of quality and meets all regulatory requirements. Partnering across our internal manufacturing facilities, external contract manufacturers and suppliers we create an interdependent global manufacturing network committed to deliver a compliant, reliable supply to customers and patients on time, every time, across the globe.


Our Supply Chain team ensures inventory is consistently available to meet customer demand. We coordinate all aspects of supply through supply planning, sourcing, manufacturing, inventory management, packaging and delivery. We partner across the Marketing, Finance and Manufacturing organizations to build and execute a robust demand and supply plan and ensure compliant supply to the right customers at the right time.


Main responsibilities



  • Ensure that global transportation service providers (Freight Forwarders) are handling and transporting our company's products in compliance with the company’s expectations and all applicable regulatory requirements to meet both internal and external customer demands, the Product License, GDPs and contractual obligations;

  • Execute activities such as Partner Selection and GDP Due Diligence assessments including establishing Quality Agreements;

  • Ensure the quality performance of regional/global D&L transportation partners through direct QA oversight, support and technical advice to ensure permanent audit readiness;  

  • Work in close cooperation with the Quality and Supply Chain network to ensure the quality performance of the local D&L external partners is consistent across the globe. This also includes providing support to build effective quality systems at the partners and supporting continuous improvement activities.


Your profile



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, Microbiology, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering;

  • At least 10 years of experience in supply chain/ logistics;

  • Strong knowledge of Quality Systems, Quality Assurance and/ or Quality Control including solid knowledge of global GDP/GMP, regulatory requirements and good documentation practices;

  • Excellent problem solving skills, based on science, facts, data and understanding of the regulatory requirements in complex and evolving environments;

  • Able to apply sound risk management;

  • Strong demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills in dealing with a broad variety of cultures on non-routine matters in stressful situations;

  • Able to handle organizational complexity and ambiguity;

  • Exemplary people/ team collaboration experience, including speaking candidly;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
