With approximately 480 employees, KLK Kolb is one of the leading alkoxylation companies in Europe and offers a wide range of surfactants, chemical specialties, paper process chemicals and customer-specific products for various industries. KLK Kolb is a member of the global KLK OLEO Group. We sell our products worldwide and currently have three manufacturing sites in the heart of Europe (Hedingen/CH, Moerdijk/NL and Delden/NL).

Head of Group IT 


In this role you will be responsible for the expansion and further development of the Information Technology department and implementation of the IT roadmap as well as the transformation into digitalized and automated processes and systems within our European organization and you report directly to the CFO.


Job description



  • Overall responsibility for the Group's information technology and support for business process management

  • Specification and implementation of the strategic Group IT roadmap. In particular, the digital transformation and further development of the SAP system

  • Ensuring and further developing global IT security and ensuring compliance with legal requirements

  • Value-oriented planning and control of the further development of processes with implementation in the IT systems

  • Active advice to the management and executives and interface to our subsidiaries, sister and mother company in Malaysia regarding all IT matters

  • Establishment of IT as a proactive, flexible part of the company which is innovative and can therefore react quickly to changing customer needs and changing situations

  • Support development of the business processes and their mapping in the IT systems

  • Provision of a secure, high-performance, reliable and economic infrastructure

  • Management of the IT-related project portfolio, from needs assessment, ongoing stakeholder coordination to go-live as an integrated part of our Project Management (PMO)

  • Control, organisation and process optimisation of the IT department

  • Multi-year planning for IT in terms of investments, costs and performance (KPIs) and IT controlling

  • Responsible for further development of the IT and information technology policy for the Group in coordination with Malaysia and its implementation and compliance

  • Responsible for ensuring the necessary system and information for external in internal audits and corresponding documentation regarding IT requirements

  • Expansion and further development of employee training in applications of existing and new IT software and technologies

  • Participating in and/or leading projects 


Desired skills and experience



  • Master’s degree in Business Informatics / Business Administrator or a comparable field of study

  • ITIL certification Service Manager/Master/Expert is required

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the areas of digital business development, business process management and information technology as IT manager in a medium sized or industrial company

  • Management experience of international cross location teams

  • Hands-on, technical experience in: Infrastructure, Networking Database administration, software architecture, SAP, automation and digitization

  • Strong project understanding and several years of project experience

  • Practical experience from the value oriented application of Business Process Management in interaction with IT

  • SAP knowledge (ERP 6.0) with practical experience from application management or consulting as well as customizing and in-depth module knowledge

  • Inspirational and motivational leadership style

  • Excellent customer and service orientation and attitude

  • High level of self-initiative and drive for introducing best practices and establish

  • Result-oriented team player with focus on innovation

  • Strong communication skill with ability to manage various stakeholders from different cultures

  • German and English - Fluent written and spoken is needed

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% in Europe
