We have a unique and newly created opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join the Monitoring Analytics Business Development Team that is at the heart of Connected Care and Philips. You will be part of a truly international work environment.


As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial strategy of new products, solutions and services of our Hemodynamic solutions portfolio with markets. You will drive success through innovative business models, sales channels and risk sharing partnerships that ensure the success of growth in local market needs.


The role can be office based (Boeblingen/Germany) or (home) office based across Europe with frequency travel on int. level as well as to our Philips site in Boeblingen (Germany).


Your responsibilities



  • Preparing and executing new product and solution launches together with the downstream product management team


  • Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are exceeded


  • Commercially execute with markets on the solutions portfolio


  • Develops responses and attack plans in collaboration with Category and Product Management and sharing best practices across the markets


  • Support strategic deals from a global perspective, especially when they require new commercial models or have a global strategic priority, per of request of the Markets


  • Responsible for identifying competitive moves in collaboration with the market


  • Plan and execute with the markets on annual business plans


  • Collect, consolidate and communicate market/customer insights upstream using standard business case methodologies


  • Assessing challenges in markets using LEAN principles


  • Coach market commercial teams on new propositions 



You are part of


The Monitoring Analytics (MA) Business Development Management organization supports the markets to identify and address business potential and ensures that each individual market can fully exploit the sales and profit potential of the Business Units’ (BU) products/solutions. Our Patient Monitoring Business Development Team is part of the MA Business Development organization.


This position is ideally based in Boeblingen, Germany and you will report to the Business Development Lead Patient Monitoring Solutions who is also based in Germany.

Your profile



  • 7 years+ Clinical background, ideally in OR or ICU space


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferably in biological/ clinical science, marketing or business preferred


  • Highly entrepreneurial and eager with a natural affinity for healthcare business, an interest in hemodynamics management in critical care, and a market and customer driven mind-set


  • Strong analytical skills and the passion to drive business growth. Ability to think creatively and pragmatically and convert product/customer feedback into valuable insights that can help drive the development of new marketing programs


  • Must have a good understanding of the global medical environment to effectively respond to global market concerns and provide technical support for products


  • Excellent advocacy and persuasive skills to collaborate with local marketing and sales teams, influence others, present convincing arguments and build and maintain extensive networks


  • A healthy disdain for the status quo, and a willingness to question existing practices to identify better alternatives


  • Experience working in a matrixed environment with distributed accountabilities and unclear precedents. Must be able to work in a team and independently with minimal direction.


  • Open to travel 50% or more on int. level
