Job Responsibilities


 


The Network Engineer is responsible for the management of Global Network services throughout the company. This includes the planning, implementation, integration, testing and management of the network devices, with a clear understanding of the pharmaceutical regulations within GxP environments. In his/her responsibilities, the Network Engineer will be:


 



  • Managing the global Voice over IP infrastructure, capturing requirements from the business and transforming them into solutions. Monitoring the call statistics, and performing troubleshooting. Acting as a service manager and liaising with our partners to cover the needs of our different sites.

  • Designing, maintaining and operating the Global Network Infrastructure, including LAN and WAN services in a Hybrid-Cloud environment. 

  • Working in close collaboration with the Site Management team to support them in network related matters like in-house cabling, power and cooling requirements for the IT infrastructure, and IoT initiatives. 

  • Creating network related Quality documentation (Change control, IOQs) in compliance with the relevant company policies and standards. 

  • Ensuring compliance of the Global Network infrastructure with Quality requirements as well as IT and Security Policies. 

  • Participating in the development of the IT Network strategy and roadmap. 

  • Acting as a Project Manager for Network related business initiatives. 

  • Writing technical documentation and user manuals for the different network services. 

  • Responsible for the top tier incident escalations and remediation for incidents where a high level of expertise in the IT Network field is required. 

  • Managing software and hardware lifecycle processes including vendor management, coordination of qualification activities, with development/execution of tests and end user communication 

  • Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction with ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting, user support and maintenance of network devices and services 


 


Candidate’s Requirements


 



  • University degree in science, computer science, management information systems, or related field 

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience, preferably minimum 3 years in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Three or more years of experience as a Network Engineer.

  • Knowledge of Voice over IP Technologies and SIP Protocol required. 

  • Possesses profound knowledge of networking components (LAN, WAN, Wireless, Next-Generation Firewalls, DDI, VPN). Networking Certification (CCNP or equivalent) is a plus.

  • Knowledge of DevOps and automation tools like terraform, ansible, python is a strong plus. 

  • Very good interpersonal skills: team player, highly self-motivated, autonomous, proactive, user oriented, open to change, ability to work in a dynamic team

  • Strong customer focus

  • Strong writing / documentation / communication skills

  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences

  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical regulations within GxP environments is a plus

  • Knowledge of current IT Service Management processes (ITIL V3) is a plus

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), German and/or French is a plus
