What's the role?


Applied research & technology development as well as ongoing scientific support in materials is at the core of our Materials Department in Corporate Research and Technology. As testing engineer, you are responsible for all mechanical and tribological material testing. You closely collaborate with your colleagues to define test regimes, performe experimental investigations all the way to analyzing and interpreting results. You take responsibility for lab and equipment maintenance and you drive continuous improvement in your area of responsibility.

What does the role involve?


As Research Engineer Testing you are part of the materials research group. You will work closely with our material experts, project managers and product developers, and you will support them with your expertise on material science, materials testing and root cause analysis. A creative, innovation driven mindset, operational diligence and analytical skills are key strengths that make you successful. Effective technical communication as well as the comprehensible documentation of your work is a key factor in your job. We are looking for a self-responsible person who can manage of our state-of-the-art labs in the acquisition, calibration and maintenance of equipment. You excel strive for continuous improvements of our laboratory methodologies and practices.

What you need is:



  • Technical degree in material science or mechanical engineering with proven experience in materials testing and tribology

  • Diligence in performing, documenting and analysing mechanical test of material

  • Proven experience with root cause analysis in materials science including analytical techniques

  • Good communication skills and fluent command of English
