Job Description
The goal of CORE (Center for Observational and Real-World Evidence) is to generate value evidence, support both regulatory commitments and reimbursement activities and collaborate on the development of market access strategies for the company`s products throughout the world.
The Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Scientist role sits within the Non-Interventional Study Research Operations Center (NIS ROC) of the Strategy & Operations group in CORE and in this position, under the supervision of an Executive Director, has the primary responsibility for providing methodological and scientific support for the design, execution, analysis and reporting of non-interventional research studies and related activities.
HEOR Scientist Role:
Main responsibilities include the facilitation of the development and execution of high quality, consistent and methodically sound scientific study protocols for approved Local Data Generation study concepts in collaboration with the study lead and colleagues across Global Medical Scientific Affairs and CORE:
Develop clear and concise study protocols, analysis plans and reports for a diverse range of studies and activities in compliance with Good Pharmacoepidemiology Practice (GPP), along with Research Laboratories and CORE Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This includes primary data collection, chart review, database, and molecular epidemiology studies in addition to other activities (e.g. literature reviews, dossier development, economic modeling support, etc.).
Provide centralized above therapeutic area scientific direction for data analysis and statistical analysis plan development and execution for assigned studies.
Identify and develop methodologies and strategies in partnership with study leads and project teams.
Provide scientific writing of study data for presentation at international/national congresses and publication of articles in scientific journals for assigned studies.
Harmonize and facilitate scientific learning and experience across different study types and across countries.
Develop and maintain a knowledge repository of regional/local vendors used for LDGs and their capabilities.
Facilitate training on NIS study methods by identifying knowledge gaps and translating them into training modules for LDG study leads.
Maintain awareness of scientific developments, both in terms of new methodology and new activities to establish communications with key outcomes research opinion leaders.
Active participation in internal process improvement initiatives or other operational projects (including leading some initiatives) to support NIS ROC leadership and mentoring of other team members.
Position Qualifications:
Education Minimum Requirement:
Master's degree from a school of medicine, public health, management, pharmacy, or economics OR
Doctoral (preferred) degree from a recognized school of medicine, public health, management, pharmacy, or economics
Required Experience and Skills:
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of clinical, epidemiological, or health economic studies
Demonstrated expertise in the field of outcomes research, epidemiology or health economics preferred.
Excellent leadership and strategic thinking skills
A track record of scientific presentations and publications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with and influence a wide variety of stakeholders
Strong project management and prioritization skills
Highly motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively
