Head, In-vivo Immune-Oncology (100%) M/F


Job description


We are developing a strong portfolio of assets in immune-oncology and other indications with a focus on novel concepts based upon our versatile DARPin technology. Analysis of these DARPin molecules in in-vivo models is a key component and central for the progress of projects. We are looking for a motivated and highly experienced leader of our in-vivo team responsible for all internal and external in-vivo studies. This challenging and diverse position will include the following tasks and responsibilities:



  • Lead a team that provides highest quality internal and external in-vivo efficacy, pharmacodynamic, pharmacokinetic and bio distribution studies as well as mouse related ex-vivo analysis for our pipeline projects.

  • Ensure that deep content expertise is built and maintained

  • Ensure scientific rigor and quality of data

  • Ensure highly effective execution of work

  • Ensure highly effective collaboration of members within the team as wells as cross-functional collaboration within project teams

  • Ensure organization and maintenance of highly functional mouse in-vivo facility including implementation of state-of-the-art technologies (e.g. micro sampling, non-invasive monitoring, …)

  • Ensure building and maintenance quality CRO network to complement in-house activities

  • Ensure high quality documentation of internal and external studies


Requirements


For this challenging position, we are looking for a highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. in biology, immunology or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification, with a minimum 10 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical industry drug discovery and development with a focus on in-vivo efficacy, pharmacology and PK/PD studies. You should further bring along:



  • Experience and deep understanding of in-vivo mouse models (e.g. syngeneic, humanized and transgenic mouse model), ideally oncology and immune-oncology, for the characterization of therapeutics

  • Scientific understanding of immunology, oncology, biology, biomarker and translatability between experimental models and human patients

  • In addition to pharmacodynamical model experience, demonstrate understanding of pharmacokinetics, imaging systems and ex vivo analysis such as immunophenotyping by flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, cytokine analysis and -omics methodologies

  • Strong experience working in a cross-functional organization

  • Good understanding of protein therapeutic development

  • Excellent team leadership and management skill

  • Ability to plan and communicate complex studies in a fast-paced environment

  • Sound oral and written English is a must
