Accelerating the adoption of data science in Switzerland
The Swiss Data Science Center (SDSC) is a joint venture between ETH Zurich and EPFL. We have been mandated by the Swiss Confederation to accelerate the adoption of data science in academia and industry. Our team is very international and composed of data scientists passionate about solving data related challenges, and computer scientists enthusiastically developing RENKU, an open access software solution aiming to make data science collaborative and sustainable.

Principal Data Scientist – Industry Collaborations
A day in the life of a Principal Data Scientist:
You will work on developing the SDSC industry partnerships in the French part of Switzerland. In this role, you will meet partners (companies) in order to understand their needs and help them define projects with the SDSC. In this position, you will also coach data scientists, provide support to existing projects and share your machine learning expertise within the SDSC.
More specifically, your responsibilities will be:
Start new industry collaborations in the French part of Switzerland
Provide recommendations for our strategy regarding industry partners
Supervise projects with industry partners
Coach data scientists within the industry unit
Share expertise in data science and machine learning
Increase awareness of SDSC in the Swiss industry
Presenting the SDSC to a non-technical audience will also be part of your activities. We are a looking for candidates with the following skills:
Master degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar field (PhD is a plus)
Minimum of 5 years of industry experience
Good knowledge of machine learning concepts
Be able to present to various audiences
Open to collaborative work and show team spirit
Fluent in English and have knowledge of French
