DESCRIPTION

Currently we are looking for an experienced Release Manager for our Zürich office to make our team even stronger.



The release manager is an important role within the Delivery team, ensuring our releases are ready to be deployed and liaising with our customers to make sure they are planned out and executed smoothly.



It is a position that requires a broad understanding of the software being delivered, an ability to coordinate plans and ensure processes are defined and followed, to make sure we continue to deliver a quality product.

Responsibilities



  • Define strategies for scheduling releases, including release streams, ad-hoc releases, and release windows

  • Prepared and capable to execute the defined release practices when needed

  • Plan and communicate overall release schedule to avoid conflicts. That means blackout periods, technical and client dependencies

  • Forecast demand for release resources and identify opportunities for greater efficiency across the enterprise

  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality

  • Manage infrastructure configuration, scalability, capacity planning and migration

  • Verify if the solution is ready to be deployed and that the stakeholders are ready to have it deployed

  • Create common standards and formats for release runbooks and work with production control to standardize release decision-making

  • Work closely with the operations team to help them deploy successfully

  • Provide requirements to Devops team, to continually improve the deployment tooling capability and robustness

  • Govern the overall release efforts, ideally with the aim to streamlining those efforts as much as possible

  • Identify release risks and effectively mitigate them

  • On the Program/Strategic Level provide inputs to the Product Roadmap


Requirements



  • At least 8-13 years of IT experience, out of which at least 3-5 years in similar roles (IT project and release management)

  • Experience working in Waterfall as well as in Scrum and scaled agile (e.g. SAFe) environment

  • Very good understanding of SDLC

  • Very good understanding of release management

  • Very good communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Technical background (previously worked as DEV or QA or BA)

  • Fluent English, German would be great

  • Strong leadership skills with an agile mindset and a high level of customer orientation

  • Ability to set clear priorities depending on product readiness and customer requirements

  • Ability to define clear processes and standards and to implement them in the organization

  • Quick comprehension as well as a structured and analytical way of working

  • Positive and dedicated personality with strong problem-solving skills and result orientation

  • Strong communication, change facilitation and stakeholder management skills

  • Responsible personality who can build a good standing in the organization
