Job Purpose


The Finance and IT Manager is a business partner, working closely with plant leadership team, recommending commercial and operational improvements, developing outperformance plans, leading financial reporting, forecasting and planning processes for the site.


 


 


Principal Accountabilities


Manages plant controlling and IT department (5 staff)


Plant staff: 170


Turnover: 72 M€


 


Accounting & Reporting



  • Responsible for monthly reporting, based on full set of accounts provided by Accounting Department. Ensure financial statements are complete accurate, and reliable

  • Monthly financial closing according to IFRS standards and yearly closing of the statutory accounts according to “OR”

  • Collaborate and set proper local process & procedures to ensure the required information is on time available and right first time

  • Coordinates month-end, half-year, and year-end closing processes in collaboration with shared services

  • Responsible / leader for the Budget review : preparation, consolidation, check, presentation…


 


 


Governance, internal controls & compliance



  • Promotes and enforces proper governance & internal controls across the plant, within an end-to-end process approach

  • Ensures Financial accounts are compliant to Amcor’s CSA (internal control) requirements.

  • Performs Balance Sheet reviews in collaboration

  • Main interlocutor for contact with external and internal auditors, tax authorities, consultants and insurance


 


Management information and analysis



  • Develops & implements process & procedures to ensure effective tracking and management of plant performance as well as risk identification

  • Ensure alignment & consistency of forecasts with the business goals and direction

  • As part of the Leadership Team for the plant, consult and provide input on general business direction to achieve Sales, EBIT, Cash, WC, DIFOT, DIO targets, etc.

  • Co-lead the realization of the CEAV for the plant in liaise with the other Dpts (technical, business, maintenance, engineering…)

  • Provides ad hoc information to support Plant and Operations management efforts to:

    • Identifying and quantifying cost-savings opportunities

    • Analyzing and explaining monthly performance

    • Conduct  product and market segment/cost comparisons for existing locations & products

    • Assist in establishing and interpreting key benchmarking data (labor, usage variance, utilities, spending, etc.)



 


 


Business partnership



  • Provides financial support to the commercial team on pricing, contract review and margin improvement

  • Implements the right tools & processes to provide the management an understanding of customer profitability.


 



  • Provides support and lead major ad hoc projects (ex: Operational turnarounds)

  • Leads plant efforts to maximize cash and return on capital and help prepare our operational strategy


 



  • Provides financial leadership and modeling for the preparation of the strategic plan

  • Supports and coordinate preparation of budget, in collaboration with BU, Operations, and Sales Organizations.

  • Forecasts business activities and financial position in areas of P&L & Cash

  • Involved in Capital Expenditure projects business cases preparation;  Request and follow-up capital expenditure


 



  • Collaborates with Credit & Collection team to ensure an efficient customer risk management

  • Member of the “Vorsorgekommission” (employer representative of AFB) and of the investment committee of the pension fund Amcor CH


 


 


 



  1. Formal Qualifications and Experience


 



  • Bachelor degree / Master degree within a Business School / University

  • At least 5 years of experience in a controlling position on top of the overall (10 years) experience in an industrial / manufacturing site

  • Understands accounting principles and concepts, strong analytical skills regarding financial statements accuracy;



  • True interest for  manufacturing processes / practices / technical part

  • End-to-end process minded

  • Management and teambuilding skills essential

  • Excellent written and verbal communications, concrete critical thinking skills


 


 



  1. Specific Skills and Abilities



  • MRP/ERP systems, SAP, MS Office applications and Hyperion or similar reporting tools

  • Ability to work in a complex and matrix organisation

  • English and German fluent

  • Leadership skills & diplomacy
