Location: Open location with preference for AF Singen or Zurich

JOB PURPOSE



  • Build relationships with suppliers in the Aluminium Foil and Foil Stock category to position Amcor as a preferred and trusted business partner and ensure an uninterrupted supply of quality goods at optimum Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

  • Deliver sustainable business results, including supply assurance, cost, quality, service and innovation, sustainability improvements which are required to meet the business needs.

  • Contribute to the overall Foil Manufacturing Strategy, develop the relevant Aluminium Foil and Foil Stock Category strategy and play a key role in the implementation of both.

  • Enhance total value procured from the Aluminium Foil and Foil Stock supply base by driving qualification and simplification across the Category accounts.

  • Play a key role in Amcor’s global Sustainability Strategy in the development and implementation of a sustainable and responsible sourcing strategy.

  • Align AFEMEA Aluminium Strategy with the global aluminium sourcing team

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES


 Strategy Development and Implementation



  • Contribute to the development of the internal Foil Manufacturing Strategy and translate the key business directions into concrete inputs in the Foil Stock Category Strategy

  • Develop Foil and Foil Stock Category strategy, inclusive of global sourcing, risk management, technology shift, responsible sourcing, sustainability trends and global trade considerations

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to develop and implement effective sourcing strategies for the category in order to ensure quality of services, significant cost reductions, added value and responsible sourced materials.

  • Ensure that the needs of the Sites and Amcor globally are effectively represented in the Procurement Strategies and to achieve this must work closely with the Business Units, Site Management and Corporate Functions.



Results Achievement



  • Control and optimize resources to meet objectives and deliver agreed results while working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure that sourcing strategies are implemented and function well

  • Track and report savings monitor TCO improvement as well as working capital improvement using the tracking tools in place

  • Assess and manage risks across the category while developing and contributing to a risk strategy for the category together with mitigating actions

  • Manage the supplier base across category area, leverage spend across EMEA or globally and drive & implement best practices and cost reduction initiatives across EMEA

  • Monitor integration of Procurement in core business processes

  • Follow the set standards with respect to Procurement and ensure consistency with the Amcor requirements and standards

  • Identify trends and/or issues that need improvement within the category accounts, identify the Purchasing gaps and use Market knowledge gained through industry analysis, supplier analysis and competitive analyses



Negotiation and Contract Management



  • Enhance the relationship with suppliers in an innovative way to realize best total value

  • Manages negotiation process, content and results in leading the negotiation team to define the desired outcome of a negotiation

  • Use Amcor negotiations techniques and tools to prepare and monitor process

  • Build strong relationships with key material providers in order to negotiate more interesting contractual agreements and service levels

  • Regularly review and monitor contract realisation and delivery

  • Identify and resolve issues or escalate issues, if required

  • Ensure transparency in carrying out execution purchasing procedure



Relationship Management



  • Identify stakeholders; understand, interpret their current and future needs and manage their expectations;

  • Build very good rapport with suppliers and obtains access to senior sales managers

  • Collaborate strongly with relevant departments to ensure understanding and compliance with key purchasing strategies

  • Create, maintain, enhance professional networks

  • Contribute towards Purchasing excellence and customer satisfaction



Financial Planning



  • Develops budgets and targets based on aggressive, well founded, realistic, forward oriented goals

  • Ensure that financial resource allocation is cost-effective and aligned with strategic and operational plans

  • Build an accurate forecast for category price movements



Sustainability



  • Support Amcor’s Sustainability Agenda with the implications for the Aluminium category to meet AFEMEA commitments on 2025 Pledge, Enviroaction Targets  and GHG emissions intensity through our supply chain.

  • Develop and implement a social and environmentally responsible sourcing strategy and develop close relationships with suppliers to have the ability to meet our standards and are committed to values that are comparative with our own.

  • Work closely with the central sustainability team in the reporting and implementation of sustainability targets and in the implementation and certification of our operations and suppliers towards ASI (Aluminium Stewardship Initiative).

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS


 


Formal Qualifications and Experience



  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in procurement

  • Relevant experience in a company with a mature procurement organisation

  • Potential to develop further into a business position

  • Project Management

  • University Degree



 Specific Skills and Abilities



  • Purchasing technical skills, confirmed capability in each of the Key Sourcing Skills

  • Mastery of tools, such as: develop and implement Sourcing Strategies, apply Policy, run Inquiry, conduct Negotiation, Benchmark, draft and execute commercial agreements and forecast

  • Appropriate application of the market analysis tools – industry analysis and supplier analysis – and a demonstrated understanding of the cost drivers in their markets

  • Experiences in the selection, preparation and execution of commercial agreements, relevant to the materials items being sourced

  • Demonstrated understanding at an operational level, interacting with other functions

  • Effective participation in multi-functional work – projects cross-functional teams in an international environment;

  • Technical affinity for complex industrial processes and cost impact on the sourced materials

  • Fluent English is required, Chinese & German would be an asset

  • A Result oriented, hand on individual
