Job Purpose


As part of Global R&D organization, the resource will be responsible for project management, product development and customer technical support within the EMEA region. The role requires close links with customers and other corporate functions like R&D, sales, marketing, machine manufacturers, raw material suppliers, etc in order to generate and deliver profitable growth through new product implementation, especially recyclable products, customer support, trouble shooting and product improvements.


 


 


Job Dimensions & Scope


The Product Development Engineer will be responsible for driving projects from a project management and research and development angle with local and global key accounts. Strong focus on transforming current portfolio of spec[KF1]  into recyclable version. Geography will be EMEA with bigger focus on France and Germany as preferential regions. This role requires 20 - 30% of travelling on a regular basis, within Europe and possible international travels. A strict health governance will be assured during pandemic time. This role may be located in France or Germany preferentially, however we may accept a remote location with an increased travel percentage.


 


 


Principal Accountabilities



  • Responsible for Project management & coordination of various stakeholders

  • New Product Development from idea to launch-industrialization in Amcor and at customer, including project costs management and trial cost budget, in coordination with the Cross Functional team.

  • Management of project portfolio in Innovation Management System (IMS)

  • Responsible for Improvement and Maintenance projects on existing products in coordination with Procurement, Marketing, Sales and AF plants.

  • Responsible for Application technical support to customers in coordination with Sales, Marketing and AF plants.

  • Close cooperation with raw material suppliers and packaging machine manufacturers

Qualifications/Requirements


 


Formal Qualifications and Experience



  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of related experience, preferably in the flexible packaging or FMCG industry

  • Technical knowledge on packaging materials and converting processes as well as on packaging machines

  • University degree in related science, engineering or technical discipline
    (Packaging/ Material Engineering or Chemistry background preferred)

  • Fluent in English & French, German will be a strong additional asset

  • Project Management experience and proven project leadership roles

  • Structure and self-discipline

  • Proactive and able to communicate with senior management, sites and able to give seminars and presentations to customers
