The growing trends toward electrified powertrains sets the stage for exciting new electric products in Garrett’s portfolio, including hydrogen fuel cell compressors, E-Turbocharger, and E-Compressors. These new products are helping our customers to deliver superior performance and improved fuel economy and emissions by integrating state-of-the art ultra-high-speed electric motor/generators, power electronics, control electronics, and advance control software.


About the role


Within this role, your responsibilities will focus on (but not only) :


·You will lead the full engineering life-cycle of product definition and development for the electric systems within Garrett’s electrical products, including ultra-high-speed motor/generators, power electronics, control electronics, and control software.


·This engineering life cycle includes innovation, research and business pursuit engagement with customers, product definition, full development, validation, and industrialization, and fielded product support.


·         Your engineering responsibilities will include end-to-end product ownership of the electric systems, including system architecture definition and product function, product/process, cost, quality, and development timing.


·You will develop your global organization to deliver Garrett’s strategic growth objectives by staffing and develop the right talents and skills within your team


·You will lead the development of the electric systems capabilities, including definition of design standards, development toolsets and standard processes, product standardization strategies, test methodologies, and laboratory infrastructure.


·You will interface with customers, suppliers, and other technology organizations around the world to synchronize your electric systems technology roadmap with future customer needs and new emerging technologies.


  Requirements:


·Minimum 10 years successful experience developing and commercializing electrical and power electronic products in the automotive domain.


·Demonstrated experience developing electric products following IS026262 functional safety, ASPICE, and AUTOSTAR frameworks.


·MS / PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Controls Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.


·         Demonstrated leadership skills in managing and developing global engineering teams, collaborative engagement with OEM customers, and managing external technical suppliers and partners.


·Strong business acumen skills and ability to engage with company executives on topics such as business pursuits, technical development challenges and solutions, organizational development, and product strategy.
