Job Description


We are currently looking for the Senior Expert Immunologist Translational Medicine to join our Early Discovery team. The person will report to the Head of Translational Medicine and position is based in Entre-deux-Villes, Switzerland.

In an innovative and dynamic environment, will have two major responsibilities: 



  • Target Validation Expert

  • Translational medicine scientist.


In the first role, you will be responsible for selection and validation of biological targets for future research projects. In the second role as Translational Medicine scientist, you will support novel mechanism of action (MOA) and biomarker activities for clinical and preclinical stage projects.


Job Responsibilities


You will work in collaboration with members of the Research and Early Development team to:



  • Propose novel targets and design experiments for target validation

  • Serve as immunology expert for early discovery projects; develop and execute research operation plans with academic partners and/or CRO

  • Work in collaboration with data science experts (internal and external) to propose novel approaches for target identification and validation, drug repurposing, indication prioritization and MOA/biomarker identification

  • Serve as translational medicine expert for initiating and leading pharmacodynamic and biomarker (including mechanistic, predictive & safety) analyses within development and early development teams

  • Participate in project evaluation and prioritization activities of the Research Portfolio

  • Provide scouting, evaluation, and recommend opportunities for licensing in of molecules

  • and/or projects in the different phases of Research and Development

  • Contribute to the management of strategic collaborations of the Research Department


Minimum Requirements



  • Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology or relevant areas with a minimum of five years industry or relevant academic experience

  • Must have good understanding and prior experience in working with “omics” technologies including but not limited to Genomics, Transcriptomics and Proteomics

  • Knowledge of skin biology and dermatological pathologies would be very desirable

  • Prior experience with translational medicine activities or biomarker research would be desirable

  • Successful experience of multicultural teamwork and supervision of independent

  • research evidences by a strong publication record

  • Innovative with a sharp and objective intellect, experienced in balancing strategic thinking with detailed analyses, interpretation and reporting

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong cooperative team player, ability to be flexible and adapt to a changing environment

  • Fluent verbal and written English
