The Automotive Powertrain Technologies Laboratory researches future mobility concepts with low climate and environmental impact. In close contact with science, industry and federal offices we inquire relevant questions in the field and develop technical solutions.



For the Automotive Powertrain Technologies Laboratory we are looking for a young

Mechanical or Process Engineer (Postdoc)

for enforcing our scientific and technical activities


 


The activities of the position include:



  • Lay-out of a demonstrator plant for the production of synthetic, hydrocarbon based, aviation fuel using hydrogen and CO2 in collaboration with research and industrial partners.

  • Planning, execution and evaluation of experiments for analyzing and understanding the processes involved.

  • Development of a simulation model for assessing the influence of the main process parameters in operation as well as for upscaling.

  • Detailed energetic assessments for optimizing the entire as well as the relevant process steps.

  • Scientific Publishing in Journals and Conferences.

  • Tutoring of students and apprentices.


Our requirements:



  • Master and PhD degree in mechanical, process engineering (or similar).

  • Interest for upscaling laboratory technologies in the demonstrator level.

  • Interest for collaboration in interdisciplinary scientific and industrial teams.

  • Good knowledge of English and German language.
