About the Role

We are pleased to invite applications to champion, develop and grow our reinsurance business in Switzerland. This is an exciting opportunity covering a broad range of accountabilities, including client and broker relationships, business origination, transactions as well as co-creating innovative solutions with our clients.

You will be the key contact for a portfolio of Swiss Re clients in Switzerland. This encompasses our three strategic pillars Core, Solutions/Innovation and Transactions to develop business and increase customer satisfaction. You will implement our local market approach in close cooperation with Underwriting, Transactions and Solutions colleagues to serve our clients best. You shall assume a leading role within our cross-functional team to steer projects and priorities including strategy reviews, renewal debriefs, various analyses and reporting tasks.

The specific focus of the role is on Client Management and Solutions.

Overall responsibility for client relationship and business creation

You will develop and champion client relations across the full range of management levels. Through these connections, you will initiate dialogue and renew and develop business in all three pillars. This implies full account responsibility for the clients in your portfolio.

You follow environment developments in reinsurance to form a thoughtful view on opportunities and threats to clients, raising trends for discussion, alongside how Swiss Re can assist.

Responsibility for Solutions

Reinvent insurance and help our clients accelerate their business ambitions with technology-based Solutions and services. Drive diverse projects beyond your core client portfolio under the guidance of our regional Solutions lead.

Responsibility for Core

You will manage the core business for your clients together with underwriting colleagues in all lines of business and support the overall portfolio strategies. You handle renewals independently.

Responsibility for Transactions

Create Transaction opportunities through client relations and drive their execution. Depending on complexity, execution may be supported by structurers, underwriters and other specialists.

About You

• With 3+ years in reinsurance underwriting, client markets or another related function you provide high-quality client management services and differentiated solutions to best serve clients' needs. You will demonstrate good understanding of local non-life insurance and reinsurance markets and are ready to broaden accountability for your client interactions and inspire a cross-functional client team.


• You may have experience as a successful sales professional and will be a good negotiator.


• You will have sound analytic skills demonstrated through an understanding of market underwriting concepts and contract wording, hence legal knowledge or interest to develop this is advantageous.


• You will model our Swiss Re Personal Imperatives, build and maintain positive connections across teams both in Swiss Re and with our external partners.


• With strong interpersonal skills (including a good command of English and ideally local country dialect), you are a change agent who inspires others, coaches effectively and promotes team work. Self-aware, you have established trust through open, transparent communication and empowered others through effective knowledge sharing


• University degree or equivalent preferred.
