You will be located at the Technology Center in Schaffhausen – a Global Center of Competence at GF Piping Systems. We are providing simulation / FEA analysis services, managing CEN / ISO standards & product approvals, and supplying chemical resistance consulting for customers. We test products and materials, offering mechanical, optical, thermal, and chemical analysis. We innovate in materials, jointing technology, and plastic processing. In the offered position, you will execute FEA simulations (FEM, CFD, and injection molding simulations) as a service for other departments and establish methods in the field of data analysis and machine learning, which will be deployed in production.

Your tasks:
Working in global teams with our internal customers (e. g. R&D, customizing, and production) contributing with FEA simulations (FEM, CFD, and injection molding simulation) and their analysis, especially in case of components, products, mold designs, and plastic processing
Global support for internal and external customers in application-related topics (e.g. piping system design, installation, mechanical loads)
Working in global teams with our GF plants engaging with data analysis and with assistance to establish data analysis/machine learning methods in the production
Developing know-how and skills in the field of data analysis and machine learning
Active participation in experts groups in the field of FEA simulation and data analysis / machine learning globally
Your profile:
A Bachelor- / Master's degree in plastics engineering, mechanical engineering, computational engineering, or similar
Good knowledge about plastics and plastic processing
First professional experience (1-3 years) as an engineer or graduate with relevant internships
Experience in FEA simulations (FEM, CFD, and/or injection molding simulations)
The first experience in data analysis and typical programming languages (e. g. Python) would be ideal
Project management skills on a technical level
Open-minded, Cross-linked thinking and passion to conquer new fields
Clear communication skills and ability to communicate complex technical topics comprehensibly
English and German language skills must be on a high professional level
