Analysis Engineer Rotorheads & Controls


Part of Leonardo (through its Helicopter division), Kopter is set to become a Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies; also contributing to the development of new hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. The single-engine, turbine-powered SH09 now under development will outperform its peers with increased modularity, modern electronic systems, and a larger cabin and cargo hold. The SH09 delivers latest safety standards, more performance and comfort at low operating costs. Kopter’s 320 talented team members are primarily based near Zurich, Switzerland – with corporate/engineering offices at Wetzikon, and the production facilities in the towns of Mollis and Näfels.


Your responsibilities


Structural analysis of rotorheads and controls systems in accordance with aerospace analysis methodologies and in the accordance with the applicable regulatory frameworks (EASA Part-21,J and CS27). Ensure company schedule and milestones within his/her scope of work are maintained.



  • Conduct feasibility and concept studies as part of the development of the Kopter products.

  • Conduct static or fatigue strength analysis for rotorheads and controls systems

  • Actively participate to definition of operational and structural tests.

  • Prepare analysis reports, technical notes and presentations including interpretation of the analysis and test results.

  • Prepare work packages for external analysis suppliers. Manage assigned external subcontractors.

  • Technical review of externalized work packages

  • Ensure that the work is conducted by using appropriate aerospace analysis methodologies and in accordance with the applicable regulatory frameworks (EASA Part-21,J and CS27).

  • Report activities to the team leader.


Your qualifications


Analytical:



  • Static strength analysis in aerospace by means of analytical methods or finite element methods.

  • Fatigue and damage tolerance evaluation in aerospace.

  • Reporting (preparation analysis reports, technical notes and presentations including interpretation of the analysis results)

  • Capable to use the tools and softwares to perform static and fatigue analysis

  • Proactive and autonomous development of creative solutions to challenging technical problems


Quality and regulatory:



  • Know and understand applicable regulatory framework (EASA Part-21,J and CS27)


Communication:



  • Possess written and oral communication skills. Have the capacity to summaries and present the results of analysis work.


Self-management:



  • Assumes the responsibility for his/her tasks.

  • Organize his/her own work in alignment with priorities communicated by manager.


Project:



  • Capable to collaborate actively with all project stakeholders


Tools and softwares:



  • TEAMCENTER & SAP (change notification IQS2 and 3

  • FEA software – ANSYS

  • FEA software – HYPERMESH

  • CAD – CAD knowledge concerning handling and data structure


Technical knowledge and experience:



  • Master Degree (ETH/TU) in the field of aerospace, mechanical, structural engineering, applied physics or similar

  • 1 Year of relevant professional experience in aerospace required.


Other:



  • English spoken and written, fluently – B2 level
