Embedded Software Engineer - Battery-Powered Systems


We are looking for an embedded software engineer who is passionate about developing deeply embedded software for battery-powered rechargeable hearing devices. In a multidisciplinary team of software and electronic engineers, you contribute to the continuous development and improvement of our rechargeable hearing devices. You are responsible for various low-level functionalities, first and foremost the software for the battery and power management.


 


Your tasks


 


•    Development of embedded software (C, C++) for rechargeable hearing aids
•    Object-oriented design of multitasking real-time embedded software
•    Specification and implementation of the power management and related software components for battery-powered systems
•    Development of scripts (Python) and tests (C#, C, C++) for deploying and verifying the developed functionalities
•    Integration of new hardware components into the Sonova embedded software platform
•    Identification of power-saving optimization opportunities with subsequent integration into the embedded software
•    Agile software development, code reviews and interdisciplinary collaboration (with interfaces to verification, production,
     electronic design, battery technologies, requirement engineering)


 


Your profile


 


•    University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field
•    2+ years of experience in the development of embedded software for complex electronic systems (incl. microcontrollers);
     good understanding of low-level low-power / resource-limited computation
•    Experienced in C, object-oriented C++ and UML 
•    Knowledge in software development for battery / power management and battery-powered systems
     (incl. measuremen instrumentation) is a plus
•    Experience in continuous integration and automated test frameworks is a plus
•    Systematic approach, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and willing to work in an interdisciplinary team
•    Fluent in English, German is a plus
