Scientific Project & Business Development in Photonics

Scientific Project & Business Development in Photonics

Your mission :

To stimulate and to promote joint research projects in the field of Photonics between research labs at EPFL and SMEs in Europe.

Main duties and responsibilities include :

Together with established European and regional SME networks, planning and executing targeted outreach campaigns promoting photonics work done in EPFL research labs to industry



Scouting for potential innovation projects with companies including assessment of business plans





  • Establishing and operating dedicated onsite training programmes for European SMEs

  • Timely and comprehensive reporting on the project to the EC, including preparing review reports, organising and running review meetings, and regular contact with the EC Project Officer

Your profile :

The successful candidate holds a doctoral / PhD degree related to the field of Photonics. Candidates with relevant experience holding a Master’s degree will be considered in exceptional cases.



Candidates are expected to provide excellent communication skills, to have demonstrated scientific outreach activities and to be familiar with European research projects and the photonics research and business landscape in Switzerland and Europe. We offer :
