As part of our Graduate and Early Career Program (GEC), this newly established role allows you to make a global impact. At Franke, we understand how important it is to get exposure, learn, and develop early​ in your career. We support and prepare you to take on a role in one of our divisions​ or matrix functions after successful completion of the GEC program (12-18 months).  

The Automation Engineer GEC shall inspire by leading cutting-edge industrial technologies and by implementing successful projects which are a fusion of industrial automation and digitalization. Franke Operations wants to produce with leading technologies and processes for being competitive and profitable on the market. For successful sustainable operations, the collaboration with human, automation and digitalization requires a solid base, so you will play an instrumental role.



The position is located at our headquarters in Aarburg, Switzerland (30mins. train from Zürich main station) and you will report directly to the Head of Project Management Office of Franke Group Operations.

  • You will deliver projects with impact on our local and global​ business – from the very beginning​

Your main responsibilities will include:



  • Definition of the requirements of advanced production planning systems, with a holistic approach

  • Implementation of the selected system, which is building the base for further digitalization of the operation (manufacturing processes)

  • Development of new automated systems in an industrial context, which are enabled to implement in a digital eco-system (e.g. Automated rail welding, automated sealing, automated packaging, SMC cutting, CAT2)


Your profile requirements:



  • You have completed your Master’s degree in Automation Engineering or Machine/Industrial Engineering and you gained up to 2 years of work experience​​ already

  • Languages: Fluent in English (written and spoken) is a prerequisite, other languages are an asset ​

  • Strong technology know-how in the area of automation and digitalization

  • Sensitive judgment skills for business requirements and feasibility

  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills​

  • You are willing to push yourself out of your comfort zone 

  • Excited about being part of a global team and turning your ideas into action

  • Proactive and committed mindset
