Low-Level Embedded Software Engineer


In a multidisciplinary team of electrical and software engineers, you will contribute to the design, development and the maintenance of firmware and hardware DSP components. The developed close-to-metal and low-power DSP platform is used in all Sonova hearing instruments and products.


 


Your tasks


 


•    Develop (specify, implement, verify, document and maintain) the lowest levels of the embedded software (C) deployed in Sonova hearing aids, with focus on OS-less real-time audio signal processing
•    Manage DSP-related hardware blocks within an application-independent hardware abstraction layer
•    Build Simulink models of audio hardware peripherals and simulation environments (C++, Tcl) supporting model-based development of signal processing applications
•    Contribute to definition and verification (FPGA, custom simulators) of DSP-related hardware blocks for next-generation custom ASICs
•    Engage in the continuous improvement of code quality and development processes


 


Your profile


 


•    University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
•    3+ years of experience in the area of embedded software, and in C/C++, as well as in signal processing
•    Knowledge of hardware DSP architectures
•    Familiar with ASIC development workflows is a plus
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Fluent in English, German is a plus
