Job Description

You are a talented DevOps engineer? Learning and innovation is your driver? We are looking for you as a member of our team of young and motivated developers who is responsible for the web platform of Straumann, enabling our company to achieve its digital marketing strategy. For the collaboration cross-functionally, you should be a passionate professional, used to working independently with an innovative mindset and focused on customer solutions. In this role you will be part of the DESA - Digital Experience Services & Applications team of five employees, the position is based in Basel, Switzerland and reports to the Head of DESA.

Tasks

You will be responsible for deploying, automating, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving the systems to run our web applications and services smoothly as well as support the transition of development to operation.

To achieve our goals, we rely on the following technology stack: Atlassian Tools, Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, Linux, k8s, Rancher, Docker, Ansible, AWX, Elk/Graylog, Selenium

Infrastructure Automation – to have more time for the interesting tasks

• Server/application provisioning and configuration


• Infrastructure lifecycle, maintenance & support


• Containerization

Continuous Delivery – build, test and deploy our apps

• Software deployments


• Manage our artifact repositories & package center


• Support handover from development to operating


• Test strategy & automation


• Quality assurance

Application reliability – operate, monitor, and orchestrate our systems

• Application monitoring, system health and support


• Respond to applications problems as they arise


• Respond to outages and develop strategies for disaster recovery

Qualifications

• You have a higher technical education or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent experience


• You have been operationally responsible for several years in DevOp Engineering


• You have a strong background in Linux/Unix Administration


• You are experienced with automation/configuration management using Ansible or an equivalent


• In addition, experienced with Groovy, Python and shell scripts


• Track record with RESTful services and APIs and with Kubernetes clusters


• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up service


• Your professional communication skills in German and English (oral and written) are fluent


• A plus would be the experience in the technology stack we use, with cloud technologies on Azure / AWS and Adobe Experience Manager or Magnolia


• Continuous learning is a matter of course for you and you enjoy familiarizing yourself with new topics & trends


• You have a high degree of independence and self-reliant way of working


• You are a true team player, flexible, resilient and customer oriented
