You will lead a team of Procurement specialists within the ELIP in Uster. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will drive excellence in the execution of purchasing and logistics strategies that support the business by optimizing costs, quality and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.


Your responsibilities



  • Implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy and regional/global Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) strategy in collaboration with Strategic Purchasing, ensuring that suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements

  • Implementing programs to drive improvement in cost, quality and delivery.

  • Utilizing the global supplier relationship management platform, according to relevant procedure, both related to sharing of supplier information and to finding existing high-performing suppliers to ABB.

  • Leading the planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost, budgets and savings forecasts.

  • Overseeing buying activities to ensure buyers minimize risk in terms of quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and in accordance with ABB guidelines.

  • Monitoring internal and supplier performance (KPIs), quality issues and development actions while proactively working to resolve issues related to procurement cost, quality and delivery.

  • Ensuring (with HR support) that the Purchasing department is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed while guiding, motivating and developing less experienced colleagues in line with succession planning.

  • Responsible for the control of import customs clearance, customs documents and their traceability with the shipment data. Contact person for trade complaints in procurement.


Your background



  • Completed technical or commercial education with further studies in purchasing, logistics or business administration

  • More than 2-3 years of experience in Procurement & Logistic, working as teamleader/manager.

  • Knowledge of SAP, Modul MM, PP is beneficial

  • Customs experience

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach.

  • Entrepreneurial thinking

  • Process-oriented and cost-conscious thinking and acting

  • Fluent in German, Good Skills in English written and verbal (C1)
