DuPont TS&D have an opening for a Product Technical Specialist to work on their Hytrel® Thermoplastic polyester elastomer product platform and application related technical matters within the market segment of DuPont Engineering Polymers in EMEA. The person is part of TS&D organization and will work with Application Development, Marketing & Sales teams, Product Management, R&D teams, and external customers to develop new applications solve application related issues and provide technical support and training internally & externally.


Major tasks:


•Responsibility for the Hytrel® product line in relation to mechanical-physical characterization, processing recommendations, application relevant testing and collection of technical information


•Providing data packages for product launches and conducting competitive surveys


•Customer service in the context of part design, tool design, processing and prototyping


•Conducting technical programs in collaboration with the Application Development & Marketing and Sales teams, and the European Technical Team


•Identify productivity and quality improvement measures at the customer - observing, evaluating and validating technical trends and new process methods relevant for the processing of thermoplastic elastomer resins


•Lead new product developments in collaboration with R&D, Application Development, Marketing and Operations


•Collaborate closely with customers on new products, new applications and technical matters


•Flexibility to travel (~30%) to customers and internal appointments

Job Qualification

•University education Master/Diplom in mechanical or chemical engineering

•Experience of polymer related materials and their processing methods is plus


•Fluent in English, a working understanding of German and French would be beneficial


•Ability to analyze, interpret and communicate technical matters


•Basic knowledge of statistical methods and IT tools (MS-Windows), a 6 Sigma background will be an advantage


•Proficiency in testing methodologies, polymer chemistry. Familiarity of CAE/process simulation tools would be a plus. i.e. Moldflow®


•Ability to work independently and in teams, across functions/regions and with customers


•Strong teamwork, interpersonal and self-managing skills


•Experience with direct customer interactions is an asset


•Good presentation skills, able to adapt the communication content to the target audience
