The Swiss Transplant Cohort Study (STCS) is a nationwide, prospective, multi-center observational cohort study, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. The primary objective of the STCS is to perform high-quality clinical research and outcome monitoring to ensure the quality of care for organ recipients in all transplantation centers in Switzerland.
By March 2021, or by agreement, we are looking for a

Biostatistician / Data Scientist 80-100%

Your tasks:

As an independent biostatistician, you accompany clinical research projects through the entire process (planning – project data management - statistical analysis - publication).
You collaborate closely with and support
• clinical researchers in multicenter observational studies running in the STCS
• the data manager team of the STCS Data Center
You are part of a small team of statisticians and epidemiologists, where mutual support and stimulating discussions with each other are very important.
You act as an advisor to the Scientific Committee of the STCS and critically appraise STCS research proposals.

Your profile:



  • Master's degree or diploma in (bio)-statistics, data science or related area. A doctoral degree in a related area is an advantage

  • Experience with clinical research data is desired

  • Good knowledge of bio-statistical methodologies as time-to-event analysis, longitudinal data methods and data visualization

  • Excellent programming skills in R, experience in other languages is an advantage (SAS, Stata)

  • Understanding data management processes and project planning

  • Fluency in English (min. Level C1), very good communications skills and social interaction

  • Interest in working in the academic clinical environment, enjoying the close collaboration in a small team and being open to discuss and support new developments

  • Readiness to collaborate in a complex project and to manage several responsibilities

  • Team oriented with good collaboration skills and a strong ability to work independently and effectively across functional clinical teams
