Prior knowledge about power systems is welcome, but it is not a requirement. We are looking for a (senior) scientist to strenghten our team in in the area of reliability research for power grid components and systems.

Your responsibilities

• Perform research on reliability, reliability improvements and prognostics health management of power grid components and systems


• Bring together state-of-the-art reliability engineering methods, physics-of-failure understanding, data acquisition and analytics, mathematical modeling and tools for asset management, to improve the reliability of mission-critical power grid equipment


• Drive multidisciplinary research projects in close collaboration with business units, other research centers, as well as external universities and industrial partners


• Build a network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise, provide consultancy to business units


• Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports

Your background

• PhD or comparable qualification/experience in physics, electrical engineering, or a related field


• Profound experience in reliability engineering in different domains (e.g. mechanical, electronics), signal processing, data analytics and modeling, machine learning and statistics


• Industrial experience (e.g. in power technology or other industries like automotive, rail, medical, aerospace) in developing and implementing product reliability improvement actions is a strong plus


• Knowledge of state-of-the-art diagnostics and lifetime prognostics methods, and experience with data acquisition and electronics are beneficial


• Experience working with power electronics systems or high-voltage components is beneficial


• Proven track record of publications at top scientific conferences and in journals


• Excellent communication skills and team player attitude


• Fluency in English
