Reporting to the Head, Products IATA Training, the incumbent serves as a key team member responsible for developing and executing strategy for Airline Business Management and Travel & Tourism training portfolios while advancing and meeting IATA Training global customer needs and departmental commercial targets.
The Senior Product Manager, will also have overall responsibility for the full lifecycle of Airline Business Management and Travel & Tourism training portfolio management, ensuring that the products remain relevant and attractive for the marketplace.
Develop and execute strategic business plans for the assigned ‘Airline Business Management and Travel & Tourism Training’ portfolios;
Lead the team formed with the Product Manager of ‘Travel & Tourism Training’ portfolio to execute elements of the product delivery process, ensuring outstanding client and learner experiences;
Identify, define, evaluate, and champion new product ideas/enhancements and service opportunities, and oversee their implementation;
Develop new training products and update/enhance existing ones in line with industry needs, converting the latest industry standards and publications into relevant courses;
Develop excellent relationships with internal Subject Matter Experts and external key accounts for the coordination and accurate reflection of IATA Standards in training products; Ensure the latest adult learning principles are reflected in new training products and new editions of exiting products
Maintain and develop faculty membership worldwide, through careful selection, recruitment and management of external instructors and subject matter experts;
Define and execute the marketing strategies in collaboration with the Marketing team and the Line of Business Head, ensuring that market needs are incorporated into product strategy
Define and execute the sales strategies in coordination with the Regional Sales team and the Line of Business Head ensuring adoption of training solutions and high customer satisfaction
Identify and implement cross selling and product bundling opportunities with other lines of business (Publications, Certification & Training Validation, Consulting)
Manage the Airline Business Management Training budget and achieve financial targets;
Oversee the product delivery process, ensuring high quality courses in accordance with the Standards defined by the Design & Quality team;
Manage training production and distribution activities on an ongoing basis, ensuring scalable portfolio offering across all learning formats and provide appropriate material to support our training distribution partners
Provide timely financial and operational status reports and other relevant information;
Responsible for the line management of staff, building a positive relationship ensuring high motivation for the job, well-being of individual and the ongoing application of the IATA Values.
University degree (Bachelor or Masters) in business, aviation or related discipline;
Professional certification in adult learning would be an asset;
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in product management, business development, or marketing/sales activities preferably in training;
Good understanding of the airline industry and opportunities for training
Experience in implementation of instructional design methodologies and course development especially in relation to digital learning;
Experience with budgetary processes and financial projections;
Prior experience leading the teams;
Excellent inter-personal skills;
Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team;
Excellent PC skills, particularly with MS Office programs;
Understanding and experience of project management methodology and the ability to apply it to daily tasks
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
Outstanding presentation and communication skills with ability to transmit messages effectively and concisely.
