In this exciting new role, you will support Zurich’s Group Investment Management and Strategy Implementation team, in its duties associated with managing policy and shareholder assets.  You’ll be a trusted team member and support the European Regional Investment Management team and its Managers and their direct reports in delivering on the Group and European regional objectives, e.g. Net Investment Income.

  

Your Role

 As the Investment Analyst, you will: 

For the European region and in-scope portfolios:

 

  • Provide, develop and maintain regular reports and analysis to inform and aid in the investment related aspects of the local and region

  • Develop and maintain appropriate tools to aid in the review, monitoring, analysis of and subsequent communication using the Group’s IT platform

  • Review, monitor and update investment policies, guidelines, key performance indicators to ensure they remain consistent with current investment objectives, strategy, and expectations

  • Act as a contact point to help ensure that Zurich Risk Policy, local regulation, tax, and accounting requirements of local business are considered and incorporated into the relevant investment policies and guidelines

  • So that proper analysis and regular reporting to management can be performed, ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the data held in Group Investment Management information systems, such as (not exhaustive) Investment Management’s Global Investment Data Wearhouse (GIDW), Strategic Asset Allocation monitoring system, portfolio guideline monitoring

  • To support the development of investment recommendations, perform and support ad-hoc quantitative analysis – including but not limited to – Asset Liability Management (ALM), individual asset classes, e.g. Private Debt, asset manager mandates

  • Contribute to individual project(s) as required by the regionWork location is Zürich with travel required up to 10%

 

Required Skills and Experience

  

As an Investment Analyst your skills and qualifications will include:

 

  • University degree in investments, accounting or international management. Participation in CFA program is desirable. Coding certifications e.g. R, Python, C+ also desirable

  • 6+ years’ experience in asset management, insurance, or banking/finance – insurance asset management will be looked at favourably

  • Experience building out and leading private debt funds

  • Understanding and knowledge of financial products, capital markets, investment structures, coupled with a strong interest in the capital markets

  • Analytical, quantitative and pragmatic problem solving skills are fundamental

  • Technical understanding, requirements and mechanics of insurance companies and industry a plus

  • Understanding of accounting principles and/or accounting experience

  • Experienced in working with large volumes of complex and unstructured data to derive meaningful analysis

  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills in finance and capital markets

  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills in English is essential.

  • Experience of investment analysis is other regions would be beneficial of asset classes >USD200m

  • Highly proficient in range of computer applications. Experience with Bloomberg is very advantageous
