Your Role 

Zurich Switzerland is currently accelerating its DevOps and cloud adoption and you have the opportunity to be part of our journey. We build new and actively migrate existing applications and workloads to the cloud (primarily to Microsoft Azure and AWS) using the right mix of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS technologies. As part of this we are actively transforming the way we work by adopting DevOps and agile principles and by leveraging innovations and capabilities cloud technologies and modern development platforms offer to us.

Come and join our team of highly motivated DevOps and cloud engineers. Together we are building a modern agile development platform based on Atlassian tools, Azure DevOps and tailor it to our development practices and our DevOps culture. Together with application teams we define on-premise and cloud-native solutions using agile principles.

 

As a Cloud/DevOps Engineer, you will

• Listen to our customers, understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions


• Onboard application teams to our agile development platform, establish modern DevOps practices and foster a culture of continuous delivery and automating everything


• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts and pipelines to achieve repeatable deployments and high degree of automation across the delivery stages


• Take ownership of building foundational capabilities to facilitate the development (e.g. containerization tools), deployment (e.g. security checks) and operations (e.g. monitoring alerts) of cloud-native applications


• Act as DevOps evangelist to promote adoption across the organization


• Work with internal teams and implementation partners to deliver cost effective, secure and reliable services


• Aligning standards and solutions with product vendors, enterprise architecture, global units, IT operations and application teams


• Actively engage and participate in our DevOps community of practice (CoP)

Your Skills and Experience  

As a Cloud/DevOps Engineer you are:

• A team player who puts the team goals first


• Passionate about technology, solution-oriented, and thrive on solving complex problems


• Experienced in transforming application and operation teams to adopt DevOps and agile practices


• Experienced in leveraging development platforms (ideally Atlassian JIRA, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Sonatype Nexus, or Azure DevOps) for application development and maintenance


• Experienced in IaC, security and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm, Ansible, SonarQube, Veracode)


• Experienced in public Cloud environments (ideally Azure)


• Experienced in container management solutions (e.g., Kubernetes/AKS, Docker)


• Hands-on experience with Java or .NET development is a plus


• Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders in business and IT (including developers) with proven capability of building and managing relationships


• Fluent in English and German

Preferred work location is Zürich Oerlikon.
