Job Description

We are looking for you as our new Head of Corporate Systems Operations & Engineering (m/f/x).

In this role, you will be shaping the next generation of our compute and storage infrastructure, adding your extensive technical expertise to the mix. You will be responsible for a highly motivated and skilled team of experts, leading and inspiring them to ensure global IT service continuity as well as continuous learning and innovation.

The position is based at our headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, and reports to the Head of Corporate Information & Communication Technologies.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a global team of direct and indirect reports, primarily located in Basel


• Take care of the reliable operation of all high-availability data centers as well as the global (EMEA, NALA, APAC) server and storage infrastructure, middleware and hosted IT services


• Provide guidance and ideas to design a value-adding, efficient and scalable data center architectures with appropriate release planning


• Envision and drive the development of a hybrid multi-cloud governance framework and build corresponding capabilities within the team


• Ensure compliance with validation guidelines in the specified environment


• Plan OPEX and CAPEX budget of the area


• Introduce and optimize IT processes

Qualifications

• Degree in Business Informatics preferred, or educational background in Computer Sciences or proven track record in the related area of expertise in IT


• Proven people and project management skills; ability to lead and develop a team of experts


• Experience in building and maintaining on-premise and cloud-based infrastructures


• Strong understanding of modern IT technologies and best practices


• Extensive track record applying project management methodologies for the complex initiative


• Excellent written and spoken German and English languages skills, another language is an advantage
