ABB Turbocharging (www.abb.com/turbocharging) is at the helm of the global industry in the manufacture and maintenance of turbochargers for 500 kW to 80+ MW diesel and gas engines. Our leading-edge technology and innovation enables our customers to perform better and produce fewer emissions, even in the toughest terrains. Approximately 200.000 ABB turbochargers are in operation across the globe on ships, power stations, gen-sets, locomotives and large, off-highway vehicles. We have over 100 Service Stations in more than 50 countries worldwide, relying on a strong and fast digital backbone.

You will play a key role within the ABB Turbocharging Application Engineering and Product Management team. Reporting to the Head of Application Engineering and Product Management, you will support Business results by overseeing all steps in the product, system or service life cycle including development, launch, maintenance, pricing and profitability of Medium & Low Speed and Rail products.


Your responsibilities



  • Actively manage the medium & low speed and rail product portfolio, by managing it through all of its life cycle phases, according to market needs and global product group strategy

  • Responsible to deliver the trends (market) and requirements (technical) chapters for the Product Market Strategy (PMS)

  • Contribute to the development of new products by ensuring current and future market and technical requirements are met and competitiveness and profitability are maximized

  • Own the business case for new development projects up to Gate 2 in collaboration with the controlling and commercial management department

  • Consolidate lifecycle topics / digital initiatives relevant to the Global Product Line Medium & Low Speed and Rail

Your background



  • University degree with major in Engineering, with ideally post-graduation in Business Administration

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the large engine industry

  • Experience and understanding of global marine, rail and offshore market and its customers

  • Sound knowledge of turbocharging, turbocharger and engine technology

  • High level of customer and market orientation, cultural sensitivity and effectiveness, result and strategic orientation

  • Ability to transfer customer requirements into relevant product requirements

  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, with strong communication and customer-relationship-building skills

  • Fluency in English, German is an asset
