Finance & Business Insights Partner Oncology - Switzerland


You are a sounding board and financial sparring partner for your internal colleagues from marketing, medical, sales and market access, as well as for the management of the organization. You ask critical questions and give independent advice (asked and unsolicited). As a Finance & Business Insights Partner you are jointly responsible for the delivery of the financial and commercial objectives of the Swiss Oncology Business Unit. You will be reporting into the CFO Switzerland and dotted line to the Head of Oncology Switzerland. You will be part of the Swiss Oncology Leadership team.


Your challenge



  • You lead the financial and business planning as well as the reporting cycle for the Oncology Business Unit.

  • You assume joint accountability with the business for the accuracy of sales forecasts, with an excellent understanding of the business model and financial drivers, ensuring appropriate investment / resourcing.

  • You collaborate in the design and selection of the information sources necessary for the preparation of the sales forecast and you have a solid understanding and ownership of the patient models (volume KPIs and gross to net assumptions)

  • You challenge key forecasting assumptions based on analysis & benchmarking, you identify and ensure clarity of the Risks & Opportunities embedded in the business plan.

  • You analyze various reports related to the evolution of sales, patient dynamics for each brand, indication and its market, providing conclusions and recommendations.

  • You prepare the presentations for relevant finance, cross-functional, business and planning review meetings and assume lead role from Finance function to present during the Oncology business meetings.

  • You drive P&L management, ensure accurate and timely monthly reporting, facilitate high quality cost management by the budget holders.

  • You track business performance by providing insightful variance analysis

  • You know how to translate the business strategy into financial plans for your business area.

  • You provide input to business cases (e.g. launch, investment decisions, market access, pricing & reimbursement).

  • You participate in the design of the market research studies proposed and executed by the Regional teams, ensuring that they meet the needs of the local Swiss team.

  • You prepare and update regularly different product performance and launch monitoring dashboards

  • You connect in the local and global organization within the finance function and cross-functionally, build and leverage your network, you bring an active contribution by sharing local practices.

  • You participate actively in the Oncology Brand Teams bringing the finance and insights perspective, by sharing information and knowledge, advising and challenging team members.

  • You develop the financial understanding of the non-finance colleagues.

  • You identify and act on continuous improvement and simplification (e.g. processes, governance).


Your profile



  • Qualified finance professional.

  • Minimum of 5 years of Finance Business Partnering/ Controlling experience within an international commercial organization, preferably Pharma, Biotech. Desirable understanding of the drug development life cycle, commercial as well as market access and pricing aspects.

  • Prior experience in a Market Research / Business Intelligence position or similar position (preferably Pharmaceutical Industry or Consulting) is an advantage.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Fluent German highly desirable.

  • Experience with financial systems (SAP, SmartView or other reporting systems) and able to learn fast new systems. Advanced Excel skills.
