Your opportunity

The Senior Operational risk manager will temporarily act as Head of Investments Operational risk team, which is a unit within the Investment Risk Center of Excellence servicing mainly Asset Management clients. The Operational risk team works closely and collaborates daily with many teams across the organization to ensure that the business manages its operational risks optimally.   

Responsibilities:

• Recording of risk events (ensuring performance of root-cause analysis and if corrective measures are required, ensure they are implemented.)


• Be able to plan, report and assist the business to establish effective and efficient action plans as well as lessons learnt;


• Coordinate and perform the annual RCSAs (Risk and Control Self Assessments) across the business


• Project manage the key risk indicators reporting


• Provide risk and control expertise on new processes and advise on process documentation


• Coach the business to embed a sound Operational Risk Framework and to design and implement effective controls;


• Conduct presentations and workshops on Operational risk matters if required


• Be willing to support the business with client meetings/due diligence


• Act as a BCM coordinator and touch point for the business


• Lead and support external auditors on the annual ISAE 3402 process.


• Prepare and present on Operational risk on a monthly basis


• Implement new Operational risk processes


• Lead the monthly Operational risk meeting with business stakeholders


• Participate in Risk Committees


• Support the CRO in daily operations of the Investment Risk team

 

Requirements:

• Industry experience: at least 8 years’ experience preferably in an asset management or atleast in financial services industry.


• Specific subject knowledge: Operational risk management framework including but not limited to Key risk indicators, Risk and control self- assessment, control testing and control documentation


• First-hand experience of managing the Operational risk incident handling processs


• Deep knowledge of processes across functions such as Operations, Trading, and Sales activities a strong plus


• Comfortable in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment and able to identify and implement control improvements


• Ability to work independently and be effective in leading a collaborative effort.


• Be motivated to solve problems, taking the initiative to obtain the required information where necessary, innovating where appropriate and following issues through to resolution or escalate when absolutely necessary.


• University degree in Business, Computer Science, Economics, etc.


• Strong IT, data analytics and power point presentation skills is a huge plus


• Languages: fluent written and spoken communication in English, German is an advantage.
