Are you looking for a patient-focused, innovation-driven company that will inspire you and empower you to shine? Join us as a Engineering Technology – Solutions Leader at our Zurich office.


OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE



  • Champion transformation of engineering, manufacturing and facility technologies and innovation at Takeda and the biopharmaceutical industry; actively participates in key industry forums and applicable societies

  • Scout innovation and provide market and technology intelligence on emerging digital technologies and collaboration with Universities

  • Lead and/or execute technology and innovation programs while seeking alignment with Technology Leaders

  • Lead and/or provide support in establishing best practices, guidelines and technical direction to establish key engineering and technology standards

  • Execute innovation projects, coordinate activities as necessary with engineering teams across the network, and provide technology innovation support to FEED and capital programs

  • Interfaces to manufacturing science and data sciences for the manufacturing systems team


ACCOUNTABILITY



  • Provides assessment and market intelligence

  • Lead in the introduction of new technologies to pilot and proof of concept sites and actively supports ongoing roll out to network as necessary for all engineering innovation and technology programs (e.g., 3D Printing, Cobots, Automatic Visual Inspection, etc)

  • Coordinate and develop engineering implementation and execution activities for new technology introduction

  • Build relationship and develop working process in Community of Practices (CoP) for technology programs to harmonize engineering technologies across manufacturing sites and ensure sharing and application of best practices and expertise

  • Technical support to CAPEX investment projects and investment applications as needed, participates in concept design, scope definition, feasibility studies, vendor selection and audits

  • Author of GE guidelines & templates for specific responsibilities of technologies

  • Support Knowledge sharing initiative across Manufacturing Systems community with focus on innovation

  • Lead innovation projects for manufacturing systems in the digital area in alignment with the global leads of Automation and MES

  • Industry 4.0 focus: machine learning and AI applied to machines, support business cases in collaboration with IT and digital team,

    • support global leads in digital / innovation topics overlapping with advanced automation and innovations in MES

    • Support Augmented/Virtual reality program implementation

    • Support integration of Advanced and automated Visual inspection technology

    • Support implementation of other Digital & emerging technologies (e.g. Digital Twin) in collaboration with IT and Digital team

  • Demonstrated capabilities for engineering proficiency, scientific creativity and independent thought.

  • Receives general instructions on routine work and able to execute independently with limited guidance. 

  • Good working knowledge on regulatory, quality and engineering expertise and experience in manufacturing, engineering and facility process and trends to continuously develop new technologies

  • Demonstrated abilities to manage and collaborate across internal and external technology and innovation stakeholders

  • Provides technical direction for engineering disciplines in support of Operating Units including external partners / Sites / Projects and other functions outside of GMS (e.g., R&D, Procurement)


Leadership



  • Incumbent thinks more broadly and uses this insight to challenge and adapt current approaches/ways of doing things. 

  • Works on problems of major scope and exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices.

  • Excellent stakeholder, communication and change management skills

  • Technical knowledge of biopharmaceutical facility, engineering and manufacturing process highly desired

  • Proven knowledge and application of cGMP requirements and demonstrated application of industry guidance/standards document (e.g., ISPE, PDA, ASTM, ISO, ICH, Pharmacopeias)


EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:



  • Technical, Scientific and/or Engineering degree with 5-10 years of technical experience or an advanced degree in a scientific/technical discipline with 5 years of experience in biopharmaceutical engineering or similar industry

  • Proven Knowledge in Engineering Technologies supporting product development and/or manufacturing

  • Recognized as a creative and innovative thinker

  • Knowledge in global process and facility engineering and the associated regulatory and quality requirements

  • Knowledge of industry 4.0 technology

  • Programming knowledge in Machine learning (e.g. Phyton) of advantage

  • Strong knowledge of cGMP/GLP regulations, ICH, FDA CMC, ISPE and PDA Guidance Documents is preferred.

  • Strong Project Management skills

  • Strong technical, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.

  • Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills, required.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION


Travels to Takeda sites within the region or global are expected as well as travels to vendors and service providers. (up to 20-30%)
