Business Technology Services CA&C L&RA Director – Geneva, Switzerland


 


The Position:
The Business Technology Functional Lead is the senior, lead IT position to serve Corporate Affairs & Communication -CA&C- and Legal & Regulatory Affairs -L&RA- functions in all IT projects, systems and technology services. 
The position is therefore a strategic IT leadership position that liaises on a regular basis with the Corporate Affairs & Communication and Legal & Regulatory Affairs Functional Management Teams (VPs and Directors) to align on priorities, define Digital Technology Roadmaps, required budget and resources; delivering following agile methodologies. 
Judge and advise on innovation, technologies and/or IT services available to support the delivery of CA&C and L&RA business objectives, including also briefings on the technology industry trends relative to our JTI business (CGs, Pharma, etc.).


 


The Profile:


IT-Business Planning Leadership:



  • IT Director supporting the Corporate Development and Legal & Regulatory Affairs functions, responsible to lead the Digital Technology Roadmap and oversee all IT related matters with and "end-to-end" IT service delivery mindset. This includes 'one face to the business' in non BTS related issues (Microsoft solutions, Agile collaboration solutions, SAP development, network performance, etc.)

  • Work directly with the Function leadership team to fully understand the business plan.

  • Is the senior IT point of escalation for the Corporate Development and Legal & Regulatory Affairs functions for any IT related matter.

  • Manages the interdependencies between business initiatives requiring integrated- or shared IT services.

  • Proactively pursue innovative solutions, in the area of both business processes and information technology, to enhance efficiency/effectiveness.

  • Represents IT on operational steering committees of major functional initiatives.


Service Delivery Management:



  • Act as single and most senior point of escalation for the management of IT related issues and/or topics affecting Corporate Development and Legal & Regulatory Affairs.

  • Overall responsibility for Change Requests, Incidents, Business Services, Projects and Business Applications assigned to his/her area.

  • Define and manage IT performance KPIs (e.g. Incident trends, change request backlog, etc.) relevant to the Corporate Development and Legal & Regulatory Affairs functions.

  • Track- and influence the performance of all/any IT related services relevant to the function (e.g. ERP performance, networks).

  • Working with fellow business functional- or process leads in an Agile way, manage the risk of interdependent IT processes, services & systems.


IT Strategy Management:



  • Ensures that the creation and management of JTI's overall corporate IT vision and strategy reflects the requirements and priorities of the Corporate Development and Legal & Regulatory Affairs functions into Digital Technology Roadmaps.

  • Likewise, ensure the Corporate Development and Legal & Regulatory Affairs functions are fully aware of- and understands the JTI IT vision and strategy.

  • Functional knowledge and network of providers within CGs or Pharma who can support the Digital journey. 

  • Experience on M&As is a plus.


IT Governance:



  • Ensure application of corporate IT systems change management policy.

  • Drive cost avoidance through the alignment as much as possible to corporate application standards.

  • Ensure Global Reference Model (GRM) governance for all global applications in his/her area and guard process standardization and in the same time ensure that legal/statutory requirements are met.

  • Decrease technology risk and reduce cost through following corporate IT technology standards and guidelines.

  • Ensure own team fulfills IT budget commitments.

  • Track and/or manage business budget related to technology spend (as agreed with relevant business leaders).


Compliance:



  • Ensure a consistent application of computer controls that support financial audit requirements, for example, fulfill legislative archiving requirements of corporate data.

  • Ensure IT systems falling under J-SOX scope fulfil audit requirements.

  • Ensure compliance to corporate IT security policies, procedures and standards to ensure consistent protection of information assets of the business function.


People Leadership & Line Management:



  • Implement the appropriate organization design of IT personnel that ensures clarity and accountability for attaining business goals and targets, and cost effectiveness overall.

  • Optimize the IT culture working at the engagement cold-face with the business, seeking to obtain maximum collaboration.

  • Implement performance management processes with corporate best practice.

  • Direct participation in the recruitment, coaching and Dialogue process of own key team leads.


 


The Person



  • University Degree in Computer or Technical Science or strong IT background, plus additional business education

  • 7-10+ years of IT senior management (including people management) with more than 10 years of overall experience in IT discipline. Preferred background employment experience would be in multinational companies.

  • Good working knowledge of business and related Corporate Affairs, Corporate Communications, Legal, Regulatory Affairs processes in FMCG industry.

  • Should have a proficiency knowledge of technology, as well as Agile certification, advance analytics, Microsoft solutions and office expertise.

  • Advanced English
