The Neurocenter of the Lucerne Cantonal Hospital, in Collaboration with the Gerontechnology and Rehabilitation Group, ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering Research, University of Bern, and with the University Neurorehabilitation, Neurology Department, Inselspital, Bern University Hospital, are inviting for applications for a PhD Student position in Neuroscience.

Tasks We are seeking a motivated PhD student to collaborate in a project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF). The project will investigate cross-modal interactions after brain lesion, in particular the influence of auditory stimulation on visual neglect in patients with right-hemispheric strokes. The methods applied include behavioral paradigms, measurement of eye movements, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), lesion analysis techniques, and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). Requirements For this position, we are looking for an active and self-motivated person with a Master's degree in psychology or a related discipline. A background in neuropsychology and/or experimental psychology, experience with stroke patients, and technical affinity are a plus. Strong communications skills in German (required for contact with patients) and in English (working language in the research environment) are required. We offer
