For our Strategic Innovation Group Consumer Care based in Lausanne, Switzerland, we are currently looking for:


Analytical Scientists


In this challenging and dynamic role, you will be part of the Global Product Development team and report to the Analytical Senior Scientist.


In this exciting position, you will amongst other:



  • Prepare and execute analyses for finished products (e.g. HPLC, GC, Spectroscopy) and raw material (e.g. According to EP / USP / ISO monographs) in support to R&D projects;

  • Develop, optimize and validate analytical methods to test and ensure the quality and stability of products according to internal guidance and ICH guidelines;

  • Be responsible for delivering analytical data packages supporting regulatory submissions;

  • Conduct hands-on laboratory and bench work and will work independently or with little supervision in a GLP environment.


Further duties & responsibilities include:



  • Develop and optimize analytical methods;

  • Validate analytical methods according to protocols and internal procedures/SOPs and perform testing for analytical method transfers (to/from Operations, CROs or CDMOs);

  • Responsible for stability testing of early prototypes and new products and generates data for analytical release of stability & clinical batches;

  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with other analytical scientists from other categories and fosters an environment of knowledge sharing;

  • Ensure testing of package functionality and compatibility (dispensing, restitution, interaction, permeation, Leachables & Extractables);

  • Ensure analytical support for process development and pilot batch manufacture;

  • Actively participate to analytical network meetings to exchange knowledge and information on methods, technologies, ideas;

  • Helps train more junior or new employees in the analytical development group;

  • Ensure all innovation analytical activities are developed in accordance with NSH policies, laws, quality standards, SOPs and safety requirements. Maintains & promotes good housekeeping (order & cleanliness) and safe behavior in the analytical labs;

  • Perform comprehensive, sophisticated and critical evaluation of own data and reviews other analytical scientists data (data integrity checks). Performs stability trend analysis and extrapolation;

  • Author analytical reports and protocols (method development, validation & transfer and stability),  issue certificates of analysis and prepare relevant documentation for registration (CTD, IMPD, PIF);

  • Set up and update specifications for finished products and raw materials as well as  stability summaries and shelf-life statement;

  • Responsible for monitoring, archiving and general administration of analytical data;

  • Generate, revise and validate report templates from chromeleon or any other key software;

  • Responsible for maintenance and minor repairs (troubleshooting) of analytical equipment;

  • Look for innovative and better ways of doing things; actively looks to eliminate non-value-added steps out of processes and procedures.


Requested Education & Experience:



  • Degree in analytical, chemistry or related science;

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position ideally within an FMCG or FMCH international company;

  • Experience in working in a GMP and/or GLP environment (ideally in cosmetics or OTC/pharma companies);

  • Be able to work in a matrix organization;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills  and good technical writing capability;

  • Good organizational skills;

  • Good knowledge in analytical method development and validation and in HPLC analytical techniques.
