Chemical Laboratory Technician (f/m)

Your Employer: AVA Biochem BSL (www.ava-biochem.com) is a pioneer in producing the premium
platform chemical 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF), as well as other furanic compounds, from
renewable biomass. In the future, AVA will deliver and cooperate with various customers around the
globe to support the development of novel, bio-based products and solutions in a wide range of
applications. Based on continued growth of the company, we are looking for a talented and
enthusiastic chemical technician who will support the R&D and production teams in our laboratory in
Muttenz, Baselland.

Your Responsibilities:

• Processing HPLC analyses according to ISO and GMP


• Recording data and keeping the internal database updated


• Performing other laboratory tasks, such as development and optimization of methods,
  validations, maintenance of laboratory and equipment, etc.


• Supporting R&D activities: operate with lab equipment such as centrifuge, agitators,
  Rotavap, perform synthesis at lab scale, extractions etc.

Your Professional Background:

• Diploma in Chemical Laboratory Technology/ Laborant/in EFZ Chemie


• At least 4 years of professional experience with HPLC


• Solid knowledge of laboratory processes and quality control environment


• Excellent documentation practices

• Enthusiast about being part in the development of renewable chemistry


• Self-motivated team player matching with multiple nationalities


• Ability to work and deliver systematically within deadlines


• Flexibility to perform even under pressure, unexpected change requests, tight deadlines if
  needed


• Analytical mind-set and passionate about stimulating ongoing improvement and continuous
  learning process


• At least a working knowledge of English, German and any additional language welcome.
