We are looking for a Global Service Engineering Specialist (m/f/d) to work with our expert Services team of 800 associates across the world. Do you have a passion for service engineering? Then we would love to hear from you.


What you’ll do



  • Own product and subsystem requirements related to serviceability and diagnosis. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional multi-disciplinary project teams including but not limited to: R&D, Production, Supply Chain, Quality, Sales and marketing. 

  • Lead the Service strategy for NPIs, both internally and with external customers. Ensure serviceability design features are well captured into the NPI project. 

  • Engage with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure spare parts are well produced and maintained as finished sellable goods. 

  • Maintaining effective quality systems compliant with Cytiva Quality policies and Medical Device standards 

  • Defining procedures and technical writing for field modification instructions, calibration instructions, and part replacement instructions according to medical device QMS 

  • Build detailed knowledge transfer processes for field service engineers. Ensure all changes developed by the design/manufacturing site impacting the serviceability of the products are properly consolidated and ready for the field teams. 

  • Leverages knowledge in advanced aspects of technical/functional areas and applies technical theory and practical experience with input from relevant functional areas to solve complex problems 

  • works independently and possesses a level of functional expertise necessary to influence and execute technical and project delivery execution. 

  • Works with the online center, field engineers, customers and/or program leadership to ensure that the project deliverables are consistent with the goals of larger programs or initiatives 

  • Supports mentoring of junior technical talent and ensuring the field teams have all the necessary material to be operational in the field.  

  • Accountable for implementing and teaching engineering standards 

  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Marlborough, MA or Eysins, Switzerland  


Who you are


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical engineering; or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and 4 years of experience; 

  • Demonstrated experience with Mechatronics and Electro-mechanical components 

  • Demonstrated problem-solving techniques and ability to understand large data-sets and form conclusions. 

  • Demonstrated experience with networking and Ethernet/IP application layer protocol.  

  • Experience with IT Networking, familiarity with virtual machines  

  • Experience with Process control systems. 

  • Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems such as ENOVIA 

  • Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource management) systems  

  • Familiarity with CRM (Customer Relation management) systems such as Salesforce  

  • Familiarity with SQL and programming languages such as HTML, XML, LabVIEW is a plus 

  • Experience at biotech/biopharma commercial manufacturing facility and cGMP environments. 

  • Demonstrated technical domain knowledge by being current on engineering design principles, architectures and advancements in clinical and engineering concepts and technologies 

  • Demonstrated ability to make recommendations to technical and program leadership to improve the product, process or technology 

  • Effective communication skills and boundaryless behavior—ability to present ideas clearly and concisely 

  • Demonstrated organizational, functional, and leadership expertise to lead a small team on a project, sub-system or platform initiative 


Characteristics:



  • Experience working in a Service Engineering (beyond field support /onsite tech support) or Systems Engineering team. 

  • Strong analytical, trouble-shooting skills 

  • Ability to work independently 

  • Customer orientation:  self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and learn quickly 

  • Customer focused:  strong interpersonal skills, ability to listen to customer, build relationships, and work under pressure 

  • Hands-on approach with regards to installations, upgrades and repairs 

  • General project leadership skills  

  • Global Project experience 

  • Design for Reliability (DFR) or Design for Service (DFS) experience  

  • Candidate to have very strong customer focus
