To strengthen our organization, we are looking for an exceptional International Project Management Associate Director, Switzerland based in Geneva and reporting to the Senior Director, Strategy & Operations Switzerland.
Position Overview
This position is Switzerland based, but can be remote; however, will require travels in up to 40% of time either to Exact Science office or other locations where projects are taking place.
This role will manage the complete life cycle of cross-functional projects with large and complex portfolios that are critical to the success of the International Business Unit (BU). This role is responsible for quality, costs, and risk for each project.
The Project Management Associate Director will act as a single point of contact for status updates and ensures the projects are delivered in line with the agreed objectives and requirements as defined by functional business leads, or the internal customer. This role is a change agent to develop and drive adoption of project management best practices across the International division.
Key Accountabilities and Duties
include but are not limited to the following:
• Lead cross-functional project teams in International; including project leadership for corporate projects, as well as International BU.
• Consult with project sponsors, or functional business leads, and reviews or authors project proposals to determine goals, scope, time frame, funding, allotment of resources, and procedures for accomplishing projects.
• Maintain a project plan along with dependencies.
• Report the project status and risks associated to the organization.
• Support and challenge project teams about the technical aspects of the solution being delivered.
• Troubleshoot problems associated with coordination, development, or design of projects.
• Escalate issues when critical risks arise and maintain a pulse with project activities to ensure progress.
• Lead cross-functional teams to execute on project tasks; including effective creation and management of timelines, budgets, resources, risks, and project objectives.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever changing environment.
• Ability to course correct when issues arise with strong tactical and clear execution plans.
• Ability to balance cost, quality, and schedule constraints while escalating issues, as needed.
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple competing priorities within and across multiple projects at the same time.
• Excellent oral and written communications/presentations, influence and persuasion, results orientation, facilitation, and teamwork skills.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or related field.
• 7+ years of project management experience to include tracking and reporting responsibilities for a project portfolio.
• 7+ years leading others in direct line management, matrix situations, or project teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix management organization with primary responsibility for project success while relying on a team of resources, which may or may not be direct reports.
• Fluency in English is required; fluency in German is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; such as Project, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
• PMI Project Management certification.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification.
• Strategic planning experience.
• Previous work experience in Project Management ideally in diagnostics, medical devices, and laboratory environment.
