Your tasks The Distribution Manager will plan and control distribution processes for Belimed globally in close collaboration with country supply chain / logistics managers and the sales order management teams. He/She will manage the central distribution centers for spare parts, equipment and consumables. The scope of this role is material & value stream from the warehouse to the customer, including 3PL, freight and customs management.
Important deliverables of this functions are to improve on time delivery, reduce warehouse and transportation costs, implement freight management and ensure customs and trade compliance.
General Management
Define processes, structure and competence for a “world-class” logistics
Collaborate with the global and local Operations and Sales organizations
Support national Belimed organizations (Europe, USA, China) in achieving first-time-right deliveries to Belimed customers
Warehouse Management
Manage 3PL warehouses in order to improve efficiency, service levels and costs
Accountable to set standards and processes on how to run external warehouses incl. cost benchmarks
Responsible to audit external warehouses to keep all processes on agreed benchmark level
Setup and monitor KPIs on costs and performance
Transportation Management
Responsible to evaluate and benchmark logistics service providers
Setup and implement transportation contracts and its processes for outbound transportation
Perform carrier performance analysis and ensure corrective action is taken in case non-conformities are not in line with the service level agreement
Setup and manage global freight control tower for distribution
Specify the requirements for transport management systems
Initiate and co-lead process improvement projects at transportation and warehousing ensuring alignment between service requirements and total logistics cost
Customs & Trade Compliance
Support customs declaration processes, review and maintain overall customs compliance procedures to ensure that Belimed operate in conformity with various rules and regulations
Specify the requirements for customs and trade compliance systems
Work up- and downstream with supply chain and sales planning teams on customs & trade compliance matters
Your profile
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management or related field
A professional qualification in Customs Import/Export or International Trade Compliance would be a big plus
10+ years experience in managing global distribution processes
Experience in managing 3PL providers
Experience in managing carriers (various mode of transportation)
Advanced knowledge in SAP ERP (MM, SD)
Basic market knowledge on logistics and customs tools
Project management and process reengineering
Excellent verbal and written skills in German and English language
